Chapter Six: So There's This Party Tonight

Tessa's POV

When I walk in to the lunch room with Stacey I see matt waving me over. "Oooh, hottie's waving you over. Better go see what he has to say." Stacey winks at me and heads over to her boyfriend.

I walk over to Matt. He's sitting with some of his football friends. There are about eleven of them staring up at me.

"Hey Tessa Why don't you sit down with us." Some blonde shaggy haired dude says to me and points to the seat next to him. I raise my eyebrow at matt in question but he avoids my gaze. I go ahead and sit down. "So, you're the girl who's been hogging our Matty." Matty? It's the same blonde guy who's talking. I believe his name is Alec.

"Um, I'm sorry?" I say in question.

They all bust out laughing, everyone at the table but Matt. What is going on? "Matty here has been telling us a few stuff about a girl he's interested in and now we know why." This coming from a tall, lean and handsome guy, who I think is named Christian.

"Thank you?" I honestly don't know what to do or say at this point. I'm pretty confused and they don't look like they are about to explain. I'm desperately trying to catch Matt's attention but every time I look over at him he averts his gaze. Why did he even wave me over?

"So there's this party tonight," Alec starts but Matt gives him a death stare. He doesn't seem to care and he continues saying "at my house and Matt has told us what a party animal you are." He sets his hand on my thy. I stiffen and have to take deep breaths to keep myself from swatting it away.

"So what do you say? Are you in?" Christian asks.

Now Matt is desperately trying to catch my eye. I decide to go ahead and say yes just to bother him. "Why yes, I would love too." Matt puts his head in his hands groaning. That's what he gets, I think to myself as I'm walking away.

As I'm walking to Nick's car, that I borrowed, someone grabs me from behind. "What the hell?" I ask as I'm turned around to face Matt.

"I'm sorry I scared you," Yeah right, I think. "but you can't go to that party tonight Tessa."

He's being serious and I am interested to find out why. "Why not? I think it will be fun."

"Absolutely not."

"What makes u think you can control me, Matt?"

"Because those guys will get drunk. Did you not see how Alec was looking at you? It will be way worse when he's drunk. He acts like an animal and he will stop at nothing to get what he wants. He wants you Jones and I'm not going to let it happen."

"I'm going to that party whether u like it or not."

"God you're stubborn. Fine but I'm taking you and you're gonna stay by my side the whole time."

"Whatever." I get out of his grasp and stalk away towards Nick's car.

Having no idea what time Matt's planning on picking me up I go straight to the bathroom and get out my curling iron, when I get home. I plug it in and start applying my makeup. I decide to add some concealer to make my eyes pop. I put a few below my eyes and tap the concealer to blend it in. I then add some to the inside corner of my eyes and tap it as well. After I add concealer I apply a base coat over my face. I add some shimmer to my cheeks to draw attention to myself. I add eyeshadow creating neutral smoky look with rich browns, golds, and pinks, to make my blue eyes pop because of the contrast, to my eyes. I add some dark bronze eyeliner to my waterline to make the blue of my eyes stand out more. I put on brown mascara on my eyelashes adding a little more to the sides (closest to my ear) to make my eyes look more elongated and larger.

When I'm done with my makeup I move onto my hair. I put my hair in a tall ponytail and start curling it. It takes me a while but when I'm done It looks perfect. I braid my bangs and pin them back. When I'm done with my hair I decide to look for clothes.

I head in the direction of my closet and open the door. I stare in there for a while before I snatch out a knee length bronze shirt/dress. I lay it on my bed and look for some leggings. Hmm... Oh I know just the thing! I pull out my brand new black liquid leggings. Stacey talked me into buying them a while back but I never got around to wearing them. Okay now I just need shoes. I pull out several black pair before I spot some black pumps. Perfect!

I put on my outfit and walk over to my jewelry box and look inside for a while. I don't find what I'm looking for so I decide to ask my dad. "Dad?" I yell through the house.

I hear his large feet pounding up the stairs as he calls "Yeah?" He enters my room and stands next to me.

"Have you seen the blue necklace mom gave me?"

"Umm," he walks out of my room and comes back a few seconds later. "You mean this necklace?" he asks holding up just the thing I was looking for.

It's even prettier than I remembered. "Yeah, that's the one." I say beaming up at him.

"Here, let me." He says coming around behind me to put the necklace on. "You look beautiful honey." He says smiling sadly.

"What's wrong?" I ask worriedly

"Nothing you just.... You just look like your mother." He says teary eyed.

I hug him and say thank you. I turn my attention back to my jewelry box and pull out the matching pair of earrings. Not too long after I've put them in, I hear a knock at the door. I practically run down the stairs with excitement.

I look through the peephole in the door and open it wide welcoming Matt eagerly. "Hey Matt." He turns his attention to me and takes me in. he looks me up and down and grins, showing those beautiful straight teeth of his. "Damn Jones you look hot." I start flushing and look away, focusing my eyes on my feet. "You ready?"

"Yeah."

He leads me out to his car and opens the door for me. I buckle as he starts the car. "Okay so remember, you have to stay with me at all times. No wondering off. Okay?"

"God you're treating me like I'm a child. I understand Matt."

"Sorry I just don't want you getting hurt. There will be a lot of booze and a lot of drunken guys and they tend to get erratic." He half smiles and focusses his attention back on the road.

When we arrive I hop out of the car, not giving him time to open my door for me. He rolls his eyes and grabs my hand. I know he's going to find some way to touch me so he can claim me as his own. Not planning to find out where else he'd like to touch, I let him hold my hand as we enter the party. Its crowded and Alec lives in a huge house.

The party is cheap and tacky. Matt pushes me through the crowd of people. I try finding any familiar faces sense most of these people I haven't seen before. It's pretty hard considering most everyone is sucking on someone else's face. People are staring and I'm not surprised. Matt usually doesn't bring a date to parties.

He leads us to a corner that isn't as cramped as the rest of the house. The moment I hear We Can't Stop I get excited. This is one of my absolute favorite songs! I feel overjoyed and unstable as the people around us start dancing to the song that I have been dancing to, at my house these previous years, a little too much. Matt smiles and joins in both of us laughing at each other's dance moves.

Pretty soon I have to use the bathroom and Matt and I part ways. I head upstairs and find the bathroom. After I've used the bathroom and I'm on my way back to Matt, a hand grabs me from behind and shoves me into a bedroom. What the heck? I turn around to find a guy wearing a black t-shirt that sticks to his skin emphasizing his big muscles. He's tall, about 6'3 and bulky in ways only footballers are. When I notice his glazed over eyes my stomach gets queasy and I start to wish I had never left Matt's side. I am stuck in a small bedroom with Alec, and he's drunk.
