Connor Pallitan isn't normal, he's known that since the day he was born. Left alone in the woods, cloaked in protective fire, its a wonder the boy survived for a year. But eighteen? A miracle.
But then, all hell breaks loose, and it's up to Conner t...
⠀⠀⠀⠀ Conner's sword sunk into the skin of the king, it's scaly exterior sliced like thin paper, and its dark brown blood wet his hands, shivering to the touch he quickly realized how cold blooded the creature was. He bit through the pain of icy stabs and continued to harm the king's stability, periodically glancing back to Gracyn who was taking aim towards the king's eyes, which he wanted to take out first.
Distracted, Conner didn't take notice of how the king began to stomp like a child, grasping at his eyes in pain, shrieking for the pain to end. He gasped and jumped back, rolling away as his body hit the ground. Felix, however, didn't seem to be retreating.
"Felix!" Bex shouted, "we need to retreat until he calms down!" But Felix didn't seem content on retreating, shaking his head as he dodged the monster's hits. "Felix!"
"Go, I'll be fine!" He insisted, and Bex looked to Conner for some sort of order or advice, and was met with the worryful expression that painted both Conner and Gracyn's faces. Bex huffed and nodded to herself before stabbing one of her two swords into the leg of the beast.
"What are you doing!?" Felix shouted to her, looking at the two other men with utter confusion.
"Don't let him kick me off!" She ordered, looking over at Conner, and then Gracyn, and then Felix, who proceeded to start attacking the beast. Gracyn now saving his arrows and instead ran in the King's peripheral vision, getting his attention. The monster was strong, obviously, but stupid, and fell right into their trap. In no time at all, Bex had climbed up to the nape of the monster's neck, her arms, hands, feet, knees, and even bit of her face, was painted with the King's blood.
She gasped as the demon swung around just as she was about to sink her sword into it's flesh, throwing her off balance as her legs swung in the air. She grimaced and she forced her hand to do her bidding, and the blade went deep into the nape of his neck, and it reached desperately for the dangling culprit. Bex clung so hard her knuckles turned white, shutting her eyes before slamming her feet onto it's skin to maintain stability, but the blood forced her feet to slip.
She froze for a moment, waiting for the beast to calm itself, and it finally did, and Bex looked down to Gracyn running to Felix, who was hunched against a wall of red, sizzling walls. "Shit!" She whispered, and she knew she had to act, quick!
She pulled out one of her swords and continued to climb as the King inched towards the two men that would be his prey. She could hear Conner on the ground, screaming for the monster's attention, but to no avail. But Bex was definitely making progress, now standing atop the King's shoulder, she dug her sword into it's brow, and swung into it's eye.
Cold blood and air sprayed into Bex's face as the glowing jade in it's eyes depleted to blackless, and she quickly did the same with the other sword, but successfully avoided being sprayed. But the cold blood soaked the handle of her sword, and she found herself losing her grip on the weapon. She cursed, fighting the urge to scream as she clung to the handle of her last sword with both hands for dear life.
