"Hold on for me okay!?"

The blood pooling past his fingers was hot, overwhelming.

"I can't - I can't breathe..."

'He's going to kill me' he thought, 'oh god he's going to kill me.'

"Just calm down, help is coming, okay? Breathe for me."

"I c-...I can't..."

"Yes you can!..Just - Just hold on!"

Connor's head shot up, vision blurring as he struggled to fully awake. His breathing stopped as he tried to identify the fading, blood gurgling voice. Was it his own? Was it someone he knew?

Was it even real, or just a dream?

"Conner?" He heard, and rubbed his hazy eyes, searching for the voice that requested his attention. The voice was soft, tired, but smooth and sweet.

"Gracyn," Connor exhaled happily, standing up off his chair and wrapped his arms around his friend, who returned the gesture, only slower, "how do you feel?" He asked.

"Sore, and my arm hurts." He groaned, clasping his hands on Conner's shoulder as if they were his only grip on reality, or his only form of stability, "but I'll be okay."

'I'll be okay.'

"Say that again." Conner said into the crook of Gracyn's neck, he just needed to hear that one more time, needed to be reassured that his best friend was indeed okay, and that his ordered didn't get him killed. He wasn't buried under rubble, but in his arms, "please."

"I'll be okay, I'm okay." He reassured, smiling into Conner's shoulder as his grip on him tightened, "I'm not going anywhere, okay?"

Conner exhaled and nodded, slowly pulling away and getting a good look at Gracyn's face. The left side of his face was still covered in scratches, but he wasn't covered in blood, and he had stitches intervene in the hair of his brow, and in the middle of his sharp chin were even more stitches, but he didn't seem bothered by them.

He took a step back and saw that Gracyn was in fact shirtless, one of his arms had been bandaged, while the other was given small coverings, and he still had that small purple bruise on his collarbone, and that made Conner giggle and teasingly shove him in the shoulder, "what's with that?" He teased, pointing at the love bite, and watched as Gracyn's cheeks turned a shade of pink.
