Margret woke up to a loud knocking sound on her door. She got up and looked around. Sun poured thhrough her windows. It was so bright that it took her a minute to adjust. Her clock showed that it was seven fifteen in the morning. She had fifteen minutes until school. She ran to her closet and through a neon green shirt, skinny jeans, and black flats. She pulled her hair into a pony tail and ran down stairs. She figured her mom knocked on her door, but she would be at work now. She usually left around the time that Margret had woken up. She shoveled down some dry cereal, grabbed her black back pack, and darted out the front door.
No sooner did she step off the porch when the bus came to a stop. Hurrying herself up the steps, Margret tried as hard as she could not to look at the ground and hide herself from the world around her. She couldnt do that anymore. She tried not to notice when she passed her old friends as she made her way to the back of the bus. Thats where she was required to sit to fit in. She hated it back there. She was so far from the door. Maybe it was just abnormal to her. With her old group she had always sat in the first few seats. It was such a drastic change.
"Margret! OMG it has been FAR too long my friend!" Amelia screached. Her long black hair was pulled into a tight pony tail and her hazel eyes shone with energy. Freckles were sprinkled over her nose and cheeks. Margret pulled on a smile, the fake smile she had finally mastered, and gave her a quick hug. She glanced at Rosie who was set next to the raven haired girl. Her name suited her. She had strawberry red hair and tan skin. Her green eyes glistened with joy as she smiled at Margret. With a simple nod, Marget slid into the seat across from them. She was seated next to Jenna. This girl had curly brown locks that spilled over her shoulders. She smiled at Margret with slight bitterness. Margret knew perfectly well then Jenna hated her. She was jealous of her. Jenna often spoke of how she would trade her dull grey eyes for sparkling blue eyes. She was such a snobby brat.
Margret sat in silence whilst Amelia and Rosie disscussed this years "top cuties". Her heart still longed for Patrick. To be up in their tree house where they would play in as kids. To lay beside him and talk off her problems. How many problems she had to explain to him. Her heart fluttered and beat rapidly in her chest. She loved him. He was easily her first love. Heat built up in her cheeks as she came back to focus.
"Ooh!" Rosie exclamed. "Margret, any reason your blushing at the sound of Jordans name?" She asked. Margret. just shook her head. Jordan was the quarter back on the football team. She didnt like him at all. At all. Amelia just snickered.
"Leave her alone, Rosie. We all know she has eyes for him, so leave it be." She said. Rosie exhaggerated a pout, but couldnt hide a smile. God did Margret want to be away from these prissy freaks.
