Shades of Purple

Chapter 14

Mickey and Katie made eye contact and looked at each other with deep depressing sorrow. They looked at each other like that for a few minutes. Both slowly tearing up. All five girls stayed quiet for a few minutes, just taking in what happened. Finally Emily spoke up. 

"Oh for god sake just hug her already!" She said pushing Katie into Mickey. The girls broke down, crying. They stayed like that for a few more minutes. Both crying. Sophia eventually pulled them all into the bathroom. When the girls had calmed down they walked out. No one wanted to talk about it, they just walked out quietly. Mickey was whipping her eyes when she bumped into Sam. 

They looked at each other for a second until Amber and Sophia jumped in front of her. 

"can we help you?" Soph said, crossing her arms. Sam scratched the back of his head. 

"u-um, w-well I wanted to tell Mickey that I broke up with Heather. That was a terrible this she did and I'm so so sorry Mickey. And I want you to know Abs and Justin are furious too. b-but um. Kat and Marry Anne are still behind her." He said all of this awkwardly. Katie looked horrified at the mention of Marry Anne. They are very close and Katie trusted her. 

Mickey was always jealous and mad at Marry Anne (for reasons that totally have nothing to do with Mickey liking Katie) She never liked her. Mickey scoffed when she heard this and crossed her arms. 

"See, I knew M.A. was never to be trusted! What did I tell you Katie? What did I tell you?!" Mickey crossed her arms and turned around to Katie. She was on the verge of tears again. Mickey's gaze softened and she suddenly felt bad.

"I'm sorry babe, I was... um... ugh! i'm so sorry." Katie just stood there, not doing anything. The tears fell but no emotion was there. 

"baby? hello?" She snapped her fingers in front of Katie's face. Nothing. 

"baby girl? Can you hear me?" She just stood there. 

"um... well i'll just got then." Sam walked away. Ian was apparently waiting for him at the end of the hall. He seemed very uncomfortable. They walked away, and the girls were left to deal with Katie. 

"Let's get her out of here. Amber? Is Sky ok with helping us ditch?" Amber glanced over, clearly distracted. 

"hm? oh ya." She nodded. Amber took her phone out of her pocket and texted Sky. Luckily Sky was in AP gov so she was dying to get out. She was in the parking lot with in 5 minutes. They were all in the car and heading down the road. 

"So where to girlies?" Sky asked from the drivers seat. 

"anywhere but here" Mickey groaned.  Sky nodded and they went to the mall. They went to the coffee house and got drinks. Mickey of course didn't get coffee because her and caffeine... not a good mix. the last time she had caffeine was when she took medicine for a headache and took too much. She had a low key panic attack and from her heart going a mile a minute, then passed out from the crash. Since then she has never touched aspirin or coffee. So she stuck with a smoothie. 

They all sat down and started talking. Katie had snapped out of her phase and was smiling and being her cheery self again. Making funny faces and  you tube jokes. Mickey laughed. She couldn't help it around Katie, she just made Mickey want to laugh all the time. They walked around and made there way to h&m (the best store if you ask Mickey and Nick) She ran inside and started looking around. 

"OMG look at this top!" Mickey shouted to Katie who was wondering around looking lost. Mickey was holding up a white t-shirt with had a rainbow on it that said good vibes. She giggled as she showed her girlfriend. 

"Ha ha, it's right up your alley babe." Katie said taking the bottom right corner of the shirt in her hand and rubbing it in between her fingers. mickey giggled and took it off the rack. She ran off looking for more. Katie smiled and shook her head, she thought Mickey looked like a kid in a candy store. 'this girl is going to be the death of me' she thought as she walked after Mickey putting her hands in her pockets. 

Mickey was having so much fun at the mall. She almost forgot about what happened this morning until she saw Jessie and Daniel. Ugh. The spawn of Satan's boyfriend and the Satan himself. She rolled her eyes and walked off. She thought about telling Sky but then stopped. 

Whats the point? they'll just end up coming with us. And that's really not what Mickey needs, and especially not what Katie needs. Mickey decided to got find Katie and get out of there. She set down the shirt, she could get that another time. 

Thankfully Katie was right behind her. She exhaled in relief and turned her around. 

"hey! where are we going?" She said. Mickey pushed out the door. 

"somewhere else. I'm bored now." 

"But I thought you wanted that shirt" Katie said looking confused. 

"i can get it later, hey you want some ice cream? I'll buy." 

"u-um sure" So they walked to the ben and jerry's inside the mall. The girls got there ice cream and sat down across from each other, holding hands they ate there ice cream. Katie still looked a little sad. 

"hey, whats wrong?" Mickey said circling her thumb around the back of Katie's hand. Katie sighed and looked off in the distance. 

"oh nothing" Mickey gave her a stern look. 

"Nothing is always something, come on babe talk to me." 

"well, M. A was one of my best friends. I-I thought she would understand." Mickey took in a sharp breath when Katie mentioned M.A. 

"oh." she said trying to stay as calm as possible. Katie let out a soft giggle. 

"what?" Mickey said looking offended. 

"oh just that your cute when your jealous" Katie said nonchalantly. Mickey's face got red. 

"shut up. I'm trying my best to be the supportive gf and it's hard!" Mickey whined. Katie laughed again. 

"any ways, you know we have to face them don't you? We have to go back eventually?" Katie nodded. 

"let's just enjoy the quiet sanctuary for now." Katie said. 

So they sat eating there ice cream. Not aware that at school Georgia and Heather had teamed up against them...
