"You're father's name? His name is...,"
Warmth, comfort, serenity. She felt all those things. She could feel the warm cloth wrapped around her like a cocoon. She didn't want to leave this beautiful moment. But her eyes couldn't stay shut any longer. The sun rays were roughly pestering her to wake, and so she did.
The young Uzumaki escaped the warm grasp of the cloth and wiggled out of it. First, she noticed the beautiful quiet morning in the middle of the forest.
The fire pit right next to her smoking with the last embers floating around. She was mesmerized by the beauty of nature surrounding her, the smallest creatures could be heard along with the songs of the birds. She felt her heart soar with all the different colors and harmony.
Then the memories of last night all rushed into her small mind, she remembered all the recent events. Everything leading up to the strange man, she vividly remembered his glowing cobalt eyes.
She quickly turned her head around looking at all directions in search of the strange man, but then the sound of a thud was heard right behind her. Himawari turned on her heels and was met with the same cobalt eyes.
"H-Hi..." Himawari shyly whispered waving her hand gently.
Naruto felt a spear go right through his heart, not an arrow, a spear. He couldn't believe how adorable she looked. He didn't know why this feeling felt very close to what he felt for a certain pale eyed beauty.
"Hey," Naruto whispered back smiling, he crouched down to her eye level watching her flinch. He was puzzled by this, he reached out with his hand and Himawari flinched even harder looking away in fear.
He was torn by this, she had developed a trauma to what she went through. He felt so much anger and sadness. Nevertheless, she needed to know he would protect her.
"I won't hurt you," Naruto gently whispered holding off his hand. He kneeled before her patiently waiting for a response. Soon, she managed to sum up the courage to look at the blond man. Her sapphire eyes met his, and she washed with sincerity.
"Y-You promise?" She squeaked.
"I promise," Naruto beamed her a very special smile. She replicated the smile as well, nodding her head.
"We gotta keep moving now, there's a town nearby and we should make it to Konoha in two days time," Naruto announced while he began kicking the dirt surrounding the firepit to rid of the remaining embers.
Himawari just stared at the blond man, she didn't notice it before, but she began wondering how those scars around his neck came to be. She continued watching him carefully, he wore a long sleeve sweater along with black long trousers with black dirty boots. His untamed long blond locks nearly reached his shoulders. Then it dawned on her. He had three whisker-like marks on the sides of his cheeks.
Himawari without knowing grazed her chubby soft cheeks passing her fingers over her whiskered ones. Naruto looked back at the lost Uzumaki and couldn't help raise a brow at her antics.
"Let's go," Naruto said snapping the little one out of her trance. She nodded obediently and stood up forgetting that the cloak was still wrapped around her. She looked at the blond man with eyes that cried for help, which he did. So he rushed towards the girl and began undoing the cloak until it was finally its full size. He shook it stretching out the fabric before stepping inside.
Himawari instantly regretted that decision. The cold autumn winds were running wild, she wasn't dressed appropriately. She had shorts sleeve white silk shirt with skinny straps on her shoulder along with a dirty blue dress that finished below her knees.
