Peter dumped the costume he went off the grid after graduation. He never saw her again at the lake. Ned would call and visit and Peter would ignore.

Harry asked if Peter he was fine. If he needs him to call him. He hated lying to him but what could Harry do? He wasn't in the mood for Peter when he was in this state so it would be bold to be there now.

"Please Pete let me in. I want to help!" Ned cried knocking on Peters window from his balcony.

In tears Pete cried now he was starving himself and deprived of sunlight and sleep. He stayed awake at night praying for his Aunt and praying to his uncle. He was fading away from that belief each day. He started to believe that God gave up on him.

"I can't tell you that it will be alright that I can tell you in sorry it happened and that I understand. Just open up." Ned continued to ask. The more he asked the lower he screams began. He was fading.

Peter sat in his floor surrounded by broken furniture and tissue boxes. The his phone played loudly with sad music and a remote was lodged into his tv. His room was in ruins he hadn't left it in months. Ned visited him each day with no progress. He still yet to get Peter to even speak.

"Peter, I can't keep doing this." Ned said starting to break. He leaned against the cold glass on his back in the winter snow.

"Peter i-i want to help but I'm... I feel like I maybe I just." Ned stopped talking and started to do. He buried his face in his legs and cried in the snow. Peter watched through the glass, the first time he moved in weeks. He was breaking just watching him cry.

"Ned" Peter said softly. "I-i wanted to wait. I thought we could be together. I thought it was love, but I keep hurting people Ned. I've waited it out and it follows me like a cloud. I can't have you suffer." He finished.

Ned continued to bawl his Eyes out now punching at the glass.

"NO! Peter shut up! You don't know what you are saying don't say that please!"

Peter stood up and shut his curtains. Ned yelled and screamed. He wanted to tell him he loved him. When he shut thise curtains, he didn't know what that was anymore. He didn't believe in it.

No matter how long that door stayed locked Ned refused to stop visiting him. He just talked to Peter through the glass. Peter listened and Ned talked. He asked questions and expected Peter to answer he waited for one and when he didn't get one he answers himself. He talked about his day, how people may miss him.

What he does when he isn't there with Peter. He just tried to spend time with him.

"So I spent time at that pond you told me you liked."

"I get why you go there, it's peaceful and quiet. The one place in New York where you can't hear the city moving."

"I wanted to stay a little longer but it's started to snow and the wind picked up. I only had on my sweater so I just left for home."

"Hope-" Peter mummbled.

The window was slightly open. That's how they communicated. That's the only way Ned could talk to him. He couldn't see him because of the curtains but he could feel his back on the glass. It was the one spot it stayed warm so he knew he was there when he visited.

That's how Ned knew he was okay.

"Is it weird I like sad songs alot. Not to get emotional it's just relaxing."

"Sinks-" Peter mummbled again.

"It's cold I hear yeah I know but it's worth it. Beside so have nothing to do" Ned said with a laugh.

"Love floats-"

"P-Peter did you just say something?" Ned asked his Eyes lighting up.

"I-am-not-the-same" Peter said slowly and stiff. He opened the the door and let Ned in. It took him a moment for his Eyes to adjust to the darkness and he didn't enjoy what he saw.

Peter was bleeding from his back and arms and fingers. There was broken glass everywhere and littered bottles of liquor. His bed was furniture were in ruins. The wallpaper was scratched off and the light bulb was busted. The light from his closet was setting off sparks onto the hardwood floor.

Peter sat staring at the wall silent. It looked like he was in an asylum. Peter heard the tap go on and off but couldn't pull away from the wall. He sat there listening for Ned until Ned got on his knees with a towel and started to wash Peter with soap and water. He had body soap and a bucket of water with him.

"Ned- I'm sorry-"

Ned cut him off washing the stains of blood and tears from Peters face.

"Don't speak Pete, it's not your fault."

Ned picked razors and needles from Peters skin. Peter didn't flinch or make a sound he just rested his head on Neds chest as he washed him.

"I should've done more Pete, I wasn't the best when I should have been."

Peter closed his eyes resting on Ned.
