An hour last and they got everyone down from the wheel. They closed it for maintenance leaving Ned to look for Peter. He expected him to be by the trash can but he found him in the car with his hands folded.
"I should start looking for that job now." He said with a mousing voice. He was tired, exhausted even. Ned could see the bags under his Eyes.
"We can do that tomorrow let's go home for now." He said.
Ned climbed in the driver seat and started the ignition. 'I used the money to pay for Aunt May'
Ned confessed as to why there was a suspicious man at the door that morning. He was giving Ned money to pay for Aunt May nursing bill.
"I sold grams behind your back for a while. It was nothing serious I just saw the bill on the table a while back, when o first came to talk before you started to shut everyone out." Ned confessed. Peter was just sitting there as they drive down the street in silence.
"I couldn't help with words so I took care of your business, with uncle bens death I figured it was the least I could do."
Peter rested his head on the open window as they rode in the sunset. The street lights were coming on so it looked pretty lovely. Despite the scary Halloween decor littered everywhere in the city.
"Don't be mad okay, I was trying to help." Ned said. Lightning his grip on the wheel biting his bottom lip as he waited for a response.
"I'm not mad. I just don't want you to get hurt. Gangs don't like to let people go so just don't be too good at it." Peter said.
"Aren't you going to tell me to quit?" Ned asked straightening his hair.
"No I'm in no place to tell you what to do." Peter said breaking away from the street and staring into his lap.
The car came to a stop and Ned climbed out and opened Peters door leaning in until there faces were inched apart. He noticed how much Peter changed since the soldier fell and he also noticed just weeks before that how secretive he was. He hated it and regardless how he felt or not he wanted the old Peter Parker back. The one that was fun to talk to super smart super shy but, super happy.
Now Peter was Depressed too quiet and emotionally dead. Like he didn't care for anything anymore.
"Pete, I know how you feel. I want to tell you-." Ned paused in the middle of his sentence figuring he was only repeating himself from years back.
"You've been like this for years and it's time to fucking move on. I can't sit here and act like your okay because it's clear your not. We pretend that were happy and we aren't. I don't want to keep lying to people and to myself, and neither should you." He said in a stern tone.
Peter looked into his eyes and saw the tears coming from the green. He was hurting and Peter saw that his depressed state was killing Ned because he cared too much to leave him. Staying was killing him because he bad to watch Peter be sad for so long.
"Ned, it's been 2 years and I still can't shake it off. All I can think about is how I lost Ben and lost my title as spider-" Peter stopped talking the minute he felt like he spilled the beans of his past the crime fighting spider.
"I knew you were Spider-Man Peter, I saw the suit in your trash when we were sophomores. That wasn't why I stayed. I stayed because you didn't have anyone."
Peter jumped up and kissed him on the lips. Grabbing his face and pulling it to him. Ned grabbed his waist and pulled him closer. The two shared eachother for that moment as soft music played from the car.
