He asked me to be his girlfriend. I said yes, but I hope he doesn't regret it. We did have fun though last night and I think Mike and Angie are planning on another date soon.

I'm really happy for her as Mike seems really nice.

Tony said he'll come over again today. Mike told me he loves watching films and I feel awful as I know I won't be able to understand what's happening, so I don't watch them.

I might hear off the hospital later too, with any luck. They said it would take a couple of weeks for everything to be sorted out.

I hear the bell ring. My parents are out at work so I make my way down and call "Who is it?"

"Me, Tony" he calls out.

I find the door handle and let him in. He greets me with a hug and takes my hand.

"Any news from the hospital?" he asks.

"Not yet" I say sadly. He sees how sad I am and leads me to the sofa in the lounge where he sits down, pulling me on to his knee. He wraps his arms around me.

"Everything will be ok" he whispers to me. "I'll look after you".

Then he gently kisses me. I reach my hands up to his face and I'm surprised to feel a little hard lump on his face. "What's that?" I ask.

"Oh, it's a piercing I had done a couple of months ago" he answers.

I gently find my way to his hair and it feels long with the sides shaved. I like the way it feels.

I ask him why he wants to spend time with me when he could be with people who aren't so much of a burden.

"Because I want to" he answers.

"I don't see you as a burden. I see a beautiful young woman who has an immense talent and is sweet and funny".

"Thank you" I say.

"What for?"

"Not running away and making me feel like a waste of space".

"I couldn't do that to another human, especially you".
