Guess It's Better to Say Goodbye

It had been a week since the death of Razor Leaf. Black Hat made the decision to release the information to the public, lest heroes come looking for her. This also meant that the public knew about C.

Black Hat had Susan's body returned to her teammates, who were all devastated by the news. Or so he'd heard, he hadn't been there in person.

Flug had to activate the security system a number of times to keep reporters off of the property. They'd ask questions like;

"Black Hat, did YOU have anything to do with Razor Leaf's death?"

"Black Hat, what can you say about the murders happening on your Island?"

"Black Hat, what are you planning to do with C once you catch him?"

Black Hat threatened death to anyone who asked any further questions, so the reporters stopped coming, but the buzz didn't die down. The death of Razor Leaf brought outsider media attention to 'unrest' on Hat Island as well, but those reporters were easier to keep away.

At least things between him and Flug were going well. In fact, Flug had been in quite the good mood lately. After the initial frustration of finding out that Black Hat had continued the investigation at his unhealthy pace ("You even worked with a hero sir, and kept it secret from me! You can't be in your normal state of mind!"), Flug was quite supportive the rest of the time.

In order to keep their minds off of everything, they went on little trips together (Black Hat adamantly refused to call them dates), a bit of easy chaos and relaxing evil.

However, those two spending so much time together meant 5.0.5 was very lonely. He had lost his best playmate, and the Hatbots could only be so friendly. He didn't let that keep him down for long, though. The bear often went out to the park several times, making friends with the kids there and playing games with them.

Black Hat had planned a date with Flug for that night. Touring the catacombs of Paris. Even though Black Hat knew a bit about human standards of romance, his idea of fun was... strange.

Flug didn't mind though, it was a historic site, and he was on board for some time alone as a couple. Plus, apparently Black Hat knew something about spirits that haunted the tunnels.

That meant 5.0.5 had the manor all to himself, and he'd invited four of the friends he'd made at the park.

There was Xandra, Willabelle, Uzzia, and Quenby, and they were currently 5.0.5's best friends.

Xandra had long black hair, freckles, and big brown eyes. She was 11 years old loved teddy bears, and she had her own pet tarantula named Peter (whom she was bringing tonight). Her mother, Hævne, was a notorious assassin. They were briefly staying on Hat Island to assist Black Hat in his investigation.

Willabelle had curly blonde hair down to her shoulders, and her eyes were a dark green behind her glasses. She wore a lot of scarves, and she was addicted to Stephen King, which was strange for a 10 year old girl, but since other books were too easy for her, that's what she chose. She was an orphan, adopted by Poker Face, the infamous casino owner, who found her wandering through her Madrid location. She kept the child safe and out of sight on Hat Island.

Uzzia was 10, and she was into supernatural things, like ghosts and otherworldly beings. She was very pale, with black hair that she wore in two braids. Dispite her menacing appearance, she was really sweet. Her father, Aljutha, was a permanent resident of Hat Island. He enjoyed raising the dead, and she enjoyed watching.

And last, there was Quenby. Her mother came from old money (rumored to be the grandchild of Pablo Escobar). She had beautiful brunette hair, and she wore a lot of berettes in it. She liked to play the bassoon, and eat Flaming Hot Cheetos. All the children got along fine, so it seemed like a great idea.
