What Actually Happened

This chapter is going to be about what Kaleigh and Avery are doing before everything went down. So I hope you enjoy and there will be an authors note at the bottom.

Kaleigh's POV

Avery and I decided that we would go to the mall after school today. I mean she just went through a breakup with her boyfriend of 2 years. We are in the 12th grade so I guess it's reasonable? I wouldn't know. Never been in a relationship.

Avery and I really aren't that popular. Avery has a few friends that are popular but I personally have never liked them at all.

It was Friday after all so I didn't have homework to do. Seeing as I have a F in Biology I think I really need to do that homework to pull my grade up or mom would probably take away my phone forever. Eh I'll just do it on Sunday night #procrastination-nation (It's where I live)

So that brings me to here I am today. Driving down the highway in an attempt to comfort Avery.

"Kaleigh, slow down your going to pass it!" Avery exclaimed

I have been told so many times that I have drive to fast. But I mean I drive slow too! When I want.

"Well if you want to drive you take the wheel. Oh wait I forgot! You don't have a license!" I said laughing

"Shut up and drive!" Avery said.

I turned down the ramp going to the mall. After driving down that rode for a few minutes I pulled into the parking lot.

"Okay so I need to go to Victoria's Secret. Do you want to do that now or later."

I cringed "How about you go to Victoria's Secret now and I go to Barnes and Noble?"

"Fine I'll come get you when I'm done." She huffed walking toward the store

Satisfied with my win I walked into Barnes and Noble. Weaving in and out of people on the first floor I went up the escalator and over to the Mystery section.

I slid my index finger across the spines of the books as I walk trying to find a title that spoke to me. I looked ahead of me at the window that over looked the parking lot. I saw my car from up here! Wait.

I looked again and there was 2 men standing across from my car staring intently at it. "Uhmm weird" I thought.

I turned back to the books and began searching for a few books to take home with me.

Avery's POV

I walked slowly to the store. I wish Kaleigh was here with me. I know she hates Victoria's Secret but why can't she come for one time! I literally just went through a major heartbreak! I turned a few corners and walked up the stairs leading to where Victoria's Secret and a lot of other stores were located.

I went inside and got some new undergarments and left. Kaleigh was probably still in Barnes and Noble since I have no recent calls or texts from her. I dialed her number and she picked up on the 3rd ring.

"Are you done shopping?" Kaleigh asked

"Well hello to you too Kaleigh. And yes I am now would you meet me at Hollister so I can get some new clothes! " I retorted

"What undergarments weren't enough for you?" Kaleigh said laughing

"No. Get over here now." I said sharply

"I'm coming over now. Gosh. Don't have a heart attack." Kaleigh said.

I hung up without any response and walked into Hollister.

Kaleigh's POV

After shopping at Hollister we went to the Food Court. Avery found a table and I went up to order the food. I picked Chick-Fil-A because that's our favorite fast food chain.

I ordered our food and moved off to the side so that the next person could order.

"Order number 37" a young girl shouted from behind the counter.

I went up to the counter and grabbed the 2 bags and walked away. I know what you might be thinking. Why didn't I get the food on the tray? Well I am very clumsy and a few years ago I had food on a tray in the cafeteria at school, I literally ended up tripping over my own foot and food splattered all over Melanie Williams who by the way is the most popular girl in our school.

I walked up to the table setting Avery's bag in front of her. We mostly talked about school until we finished. Avery picked up my trash and threw it in a nearby trashcan. Picking up her bags she muttered a "Let's go" ducking her head down, but not without a glance toward the other side of the court.

I knew exactly what she saw, so I quickly grabbed my bags and we walked toward the parking lot.

Once we got outside we slowed down a little. I then heard the squealing of tires.

"Someone's trying to show off" I thought.

I was wrong. A maroon van stopped right next to Avery and I. We froze. I don't know why I didn't run. But I couldn't move.

The door slid open and 2 men wearing black ski masks jumped out. One guy grabbed me while the other grabbed Avery. I started punching at their back screaming. He threw me in the van. Avery was thrown in right on top of me.

I groaned and pushed her off of me. Just in time for a cloth to be put over my face knocking me out.

And that everyone is chapter 1! I wanted to give you knowledge of what went down so here it is! I'm not sure whether the next chapter will be the girls held hostage of the BAU at the crime scene. I guess we will see.
