Kaleigh's POV
I woke up on the floor.
It was a really cold floor.
What was worse was that I couldn't move.
Ropes were binding my hands and feet rendering them useless.
I turned my head toward the right and saw Avery. She had a gag in her mouth and was also bound like me. Why does she have a gag? Maybe she woke up earlier and started screaming.
I don't think I'd make out very well if I tried screaming.
I turned my head back so that I was looking at the ceiling. The ceiling had blood splattered all over it.
"Oh my god." I whispered softly
I closed my eyes and tried to not picture all that blood.
"Avery dear was so loud when she woke up. Wouldn't stop screaming Kaleigh's name and telling her to wake up before the guy comes back. Had to give her another dose of chloroform and gagged her. Avery shouldn't wake up until about 6." A deep male voice said
"Ah we should have figured that out of a Barclay. Shall we go see if Kaleigh is awake." Another voice said not as deep.
My blood turned cold.
They were going to come in here and see that I was awake.
The noises of the shoes got closer toward the big steel door.
I quickly moved into the position I woke up in and started hoping I would not be caught.
When the door opened it was a huge squeak which sounded like when your teacher accidentally scratches her nail on chalkboard. I absolutely hate that sound and it causes me to wince.
I guess since I am quite scared right now, wincing is not an issue.
My heart started beating faster and faster. The amount of nervousness that I am feeling right now is totally unmeasurable.
"Still Kaleigh, Still." I said over and over again in my heard
The shoes clicked as he walked across the hardwood floor. Then they stopped. I could feel his stare down on me but I didn't dare move.
"I suppose she hasn't awaken yet. Good on her part I guess. I mean we would more than likely have to silence her. You do have another gag in here right? Just in case she wakes up I want to be able to quiet her quickly. Didn't get a chance to soundproof the entire building." The second voice said
"Soundproofing? Really? It's like they have done this before and haven't gotten the chance yet." I thought internally.
"Yeah, it's over on the table. God can't you see anything, John?" The other voice said sharply
"Great. I wouldn't want our neighbors to hear us. We almost had a close call when they heard Jamie." The guy named John said not minding his partners tone.
My blood stopped cold (yet again). There was someone else? Was she from Arlington Heights too? I doubt it. I probably would have heard of that. Right?
"C'mon we need to go." John said after moments of silence.
"What are we doing?" The other guy asked.
"I am going to go searching at the mall for vulnerable teens like all the rest we have gotten. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't rather stay in here, Hayden." John retorted!
"Fine I'm coming. Hold up and don't get your panties ruffled." Hayden said
Their footsteps exited the room and the door closed slowly and loudly. Faintly I could here their footsteps go down the hallway until they could no longer be heard.
