Author's Note:

Thank you so much to all of you who have continued reading this far! I'm just going to put this note here; all chapters after this one, and possibly this one, I am issuing a possible trigger warning for. I don't really plan much of what I'm going to write here, so just possible trigger warning for the entire rest of this fan-fiction.

Enjoy!

Chapter 38

Bob opened his apartment door to a smiling Caitlyn.

"Hello, my darling," Bob replied, smiling back. Bob embraced Caitlyn in a quick hug and planted a gentle kiss on her head before taking her inside and shutting the apartment door behind them.

"How have you been today, Bob?" Caitlyn asked, setting Bob's briefcase down on his bed.

"A little bored; a little lonely, but I feel a lot better now," Bob replied, smiling.

"Aww. Me too."

"Who covered for me?" Bob asked, snuggling Caitlyn into his chest as they sat on his bed.

"Janet did. She seemed nice, but she hadn't a clue what we were supposed to be doing," Caitlyn giggled.

"Ah, Janet! Yes, she's one of my most favored colleges. She is a Geography professor though, so I'm not all too surprised that she had difficulties teaching my class," Bob chuckled.

"What are trying to say about geography?" Caitlyn joked, giggling.

"Nothing," he chuckled in reply.

"I ran into Bart Simpson today," Caitlyn said.

"So did I, around 11 am. Quite literally! He ran straight into me and knocked us both to the ground," Bob laughed.

"Metaphorically for me," Caitlyn giggled, "But anyway; he asked me to tell you that he was so glad you were there this morning, and thank you for saving him from those bullies,"  she continued.

"As am I," Bob smiled.

"You're always so kind to people, Bob," Caitlyn said kindly.

"Thank you; so are you," Bob replied, blushing a little.

"Aww; you're so cute when you blush," Caitlyn gushed.

"Stop it," Bob whined in a joking manner, turning an even deeper shade of pink.

Caitlyn giggled at Bob's light-hearted embarrassment.

"How did your lesson end up, then? Did it turn out okay?" Bob asked, chuckling.

"Sort of? Ricky and a few of his crew gave Janet a hard time, asking why you weren't in, and accusing her of being your captor or something. But apart from that, it was fine," Caitlyn sighed in reply.

"That boy,"Bob grumbled, "Well- he's an adult, but he acts like a child!"

"I," Caitlyn said, imitating Bob, "think likewise!"

"You're almost there with my accent," Bob laughed.

"Really? It's such a sexy accent," Caitlyn replied.

Bob chuckled, running his fingers elegantly through her blondey-brown hair.

"You're hair is so soft," Bob commented.

"Thanks, I washed it before I left my house," Caitlyn replied, "But your hair is something else entirely. It's like the God of all hair," she giggled.

"Why thank you," Bob laughed.

Bob and Caitlyn's snuggle was interrupted by Bob's mobile phone's ringtone echoing from Bob's trouser pocket.

"Pardon, Caitlyn," Bob got up and answered his phone.

"Hello? Robert Terwilliger speaking."

"Hello, Bob, dear!" was the reply from the other end; it was Bob's mother!

"Oh, hello, mother!" Bob said, pleasantly surprised, "How are you doing? I haven't heard from you in almost six months!"

"Oh, Robert, darling, I know! I'm so sorry I haven't been in touch for a while! Cecil gave me your number just last week! I'm calling you, however, to give you good news! Your father and I have moved back into our house in Springfield! Your father was offered a great job here, and we've decided to take it!" His mother answered, seeming excited.

"Oh, that's wonderful news!" Bob exclaimed, his entire face lighting up with joy. He hadn't seen his parents in person for nearly two years; it was going to be fantastic to finally see them again!

Caitlyn watched in delight; Bob was acting just like his old self! It was almost miraculous!

She wondered what had happened to make him so happy; whatever it was, Caitlyn was overjoyed that it had happened.

"Yes, it is, isn't it? Anyway, your father and I were hoping that we could possibly pop round? Cecil would be accompanying us both, as we're unsure of where you live, but how does that sound?" his mother asked.

"Oh, that would be wonderful! I'm with my partner, Caitlyn, right now. I'm sure she'd be delighted to meet you both," Bob replied enthusiastically.

"And we'd be delighted to meet her too! Well, I'll see you very soon, sweetheart. Goodbye, Bob!"

"Yes, see you too, mother!"

Bob turned to face Caitlyn, grinning radiantly.

"So!" Bob said brightly, "How would you like to meet my parents?"
