Author Note:
I hope I haven't bored you too much (😁). This chapter is taking place about three months later. Caitlyn and Bob are now good friends, and have known eachother for a while now. They spend time together often, but this chapter is focused more on Bob for the first part of it. Enjoy!

Bob's life had been greater than usual for the past few months. Having Caitlyn in his life had given him the motivation that he'd needed. Perhaps it was the fact that he wasn't alone all the time, or the fact that he had someone else to think about instead of his problems, but whatever it was, he liked it.

But even though Bob was lonely before he met Caitlyn, he had always visited his son, Gino, and took him out with him. This time, Bob had planned to take Gino out for lunch and then to the zoo with Caitlyn joining them. Bob knew that Gino would have to meet Caitlyn soon; after all, they spent a large majority of their time together.

Bob got out of his car and knocked on the door of  Franchesca's house , his ex-wife.
"Ah! Hello, Roberto! Come in, come in!" Franchesca greeted Bob with enthusiasm. Bob smiled and entered the house.
"Hello, Franchesca. How are you?" Bob asked, giving Franchesca a hug.
"Quite-a well. I have a good job, and-a Gino is happy at school. So it is-a going well! What about you, Roberto?" Franchesca replied.

"Also well! I have made a friend. I teach her at university. She's called Caitlyn, but of course you already know about her," Bob laughed.

"Papa! Papa! You are finally here!" Gino rushed down the stairs and was enveloped in a hug by Bob.
"Oh, I missed you so much!" Bob said excitedly, squeezing Gino.
"Where are we going?"
"Out for lunch, and then we are meeting my friend Caitlyn at the zoo!" Bob answered.

"Is Caitlyn your girlfriend?" Gino asked, looking up at his father with curiosity.
"Gino!" Franchesca scolded.
Bob's cheeks turned crisom.
"She is!" Gino laughed.
"No... Caitlyn's just a friend!" Bob insisted.

Gino smirked, clearly not believing him. A few minutes later, Bob and Gino were driving to the restaurant.

( Just thought I should say this: Gino is now 10. Bart is 17. Lisa is 15. Maggie is 7. Bob is in his 30s and Caitlyn is nearly 30).

"What would you like, son?" Bob asked, handing Gino a menu.
"I don't know, Papa. Maybe pasta," Gino replies. The waiter comes over to them a few minutes later and they place their order.

'God, this is expensive,' Bob thought worriedly.
"What's wrong, Papa?" Gino asked, noticing the anxious look on his father's face.
"What? Oh, nothing. I'm just trying to figure out if I have marked the student's papers or not," Bob lied, very convincingly.
"Oh. Ok!"

Their food arrives shortly after; a steaming plate of spaghetti laid in front of Gino, and a plate of pasta in front of Bob.
"Gracie!" Gino said, tucking in.
"Gracie," Bob chuckled.

(Gracie is Italian for thank you)

"How is school?" Bob asked.
"It is good. We are learning about the weather cycle. It is quite facinating how the clouds are from the sea, and the sea is from the clouds," Gino said, a thoughtful look on his face. Bob chuckled. He remembered that when he had been taught it, that was exactly what he said to his parents.
"Ah! The trusty old weather cycle! The weather has been rather kind to us today, hasn't it?" Bob replied.
"Yes, quite," Gino said, trying to mimic Bob's deep voice. Bob laughed heartily. He had almost forgotten how brilliant it felt to spend time with his son.
