Author's Note:
I've written 30 whole chapters of this fan-fiction!!! I can't believe that some of you have continued reading this far! Thank you so much if you have. In this chapter, we're going to focusing more on Caitlyn. This fan fiction will be coming to an end soon, but don't worry; I've still got a few chapters left to write. Also, you may have noticed that I've started 'How To Unkill Yourself'. I won't be including any Author's Notes in that novel, as it is going to be written like a normal novel. That is a work entirely of my own fiction, straight from my own head. It has a mature rating for language used and certain themes that are explored in the book. But anyway! Back to this story! This chapter takes place three days after she had told Bob.
Enjoy!
Chapter 31
Caitlyn sunk into the cream leather on her couch in the living room of her house.
"What-have-I-done?" Caitlyn mumbled into her sleeve. It had been a long day. She'd told Bob, and it had gone not exactly good, but well. Now she had to tell her mom. How the hell was she going to do that?! How would she react?!
"No! Get a hold of yourself, Caitlyn!" she scolded herself, "You're twenty-nine! Not nineteen! It doesn't matter if you're pregnant now; you're a mature adult!"
With quaking fingers, she picked up her mobile phone and dialed her mother's number.
"Hello?" Caitlyn's heart rate picked up at hearing her mother's voice after nearly two years.
"Um-hi, Mom..."
"Oh! Caitlyn, my baby! I thought something terrible had happened to you! Dear God; why didn't you contact me?"
"I. I don't know. Sorry."
"Well, no worries, darling, you are now. Anyway! How have things been these past two years?"
"Well. Last year, I left college. I took a gap year and kinda just- I didn't really do very much in my gap year. I visited New York for the first time!" Caitlyn said, trying to sound excited.
"That's wonderful, Caitlyn!"
"And. Well. This year, I met a man called Robert Terwilliger. But I call him Bob, 'cuz, well. You know. And, we went out. And we've been going out for nearly a whole year now..."
"Oh, darling, that's wonderful! When will I get to meet this man?"
"Um- pretty soon, I hope. Because-err- I'm pregnant."
"What?! Oh, dear, that's amazing! How far along?"
"What?! You're not mad?!"
"Caitlyn, for God's sake's, your twenty-nine! I had you at twenty!"
"Oh. Okay. I'm only about a month or two along."
"Ooh! Do you know what they are?"
"No. I don't know if they're a boy or girl yet."
"Are you going to find out?"
"I'll have to ask Bob, but I think so."
"Oh, that's so fantastic! I can't believe that when you FINALLY decide to ring me after two years, I hear that I'm going to be a grandmother! Tell me more about Robert, dear," Caitlyn's mother babbled.
"Well, um. Okay. He's quite tall. He has really big feet," Caitlyn giggled, "His hair is like a palm tree, but it's red. Err. He's from England-"
Caitlyn was interrupted by an excited shriek from the other side of the phone.
