Chapter 39

Bob had a delighted grin spread across his face as he welcomed his mother, father and brother Cecil into his apartment.

"Welcome, welcome! Sorry- the place is a little small," Bob said.

"Oh, Bob! Your flat is lovely and cosy!" Judith, Bob's mother, cried.

"This is quite a place, Bob," Robert, Bob's father, commented.

"Thank you," Bob replied.

He kissed his mother on the cheek and gave his father a hug.

"Gosh, it's been so long!" Bob exclaimed.

"It has, hasn't it?" Judith laughed.

"Caitlyn, let me introduce you. You've already met my brother, Cecil. This is my mother, Judith Underdunk Terwilliger. And this is my father, Robert Terwilliger Senior. Mother, Father, this is Caitlyn Williams, my partner," Bob beamed, introducing everyone.

"It's nice to meet you both," Caitlyn smiled shyly and shook both of Bob's parents' hands.

"And it's a pleasure to meet you< Caitlyn," Robert said, "I'm so glad Bob has a companion again."

"As am I. Nice to meet you too, Caitlyn," Judith said, smiling delightedly.

Excited delight spurred through Bob; he so missed this feeling! He hadn't this happy in months!

"I'll get everyone drinks! Brother dear, would you care to help me," Bob announced.

"Why not? What would everyone like?" Cecil asked, standing up to help Bob.

"I'll have a cup of tea," Robert and Judith said in unison. Both of them laughed at their predicable choice.

"I'll like a coffee, please," Caitlyn requested.

"Okay, any sugars?" Bob asked.

"Non for me, thank you, Bob," Robert said.

"Neither for me," Judith replied.

"Just one, please," Caitlyn answered.

"Okay, got it! Come on, Cecil."

The two brothers began busying themselves with drink making.

"Cecil- I think that I should probably tell you individually. Caitlyn is pregnant with my child," Bob said in a hushed voice.

"Gosh, Bob! Looking to replace him already?" Cecil gasped thoughtlessly.

"How dare you! Of course I'm not!" Bob cried quietly, "It wasn't planned- she was on a pill, but it was only 98% effective," Bob sighed.

"What luck," Cecil snorted with laughter.

"It isn't funny in the least!" Bob snapped, accidentally raising his voice.

"Is everything alright in there, boys?" Judith called, concerned.

"Yes, mother! All is well and good," Bob called back.

Shooting daggers at Cecil, he hissed,

"Don't say anything until I say so! If mum and dad ask, you found out a week ago or so; understand?!"

"Yes, brother. I understand perfectly," Cecil chuckled, smirking.

Cecil and Bob walked into the bedroom with cups of tea and coffee for their parents, and one for Caitlyn. After handing out the drinks, Bob took a seat on his bed beside Caitlyn, and Cecil sat down on the armchair opposite.
