Author's Note:

This chapter takes place a month-ish later. So, we now know what Caitlyn's going through here, BUT. Bob doesn't! Until? Read on to find out. Possible trigger warning for this chapter, but I'm unsure if it's absolute.

Enjoy!

Chapter 30

Caitlyn's hand shook as she knocked on Bob's apartment door. She'd known about this for nearly a month now. But she'd just taken a pregnancy test- just to make sure- to maybe hope that she wasn't; that perhaps all this illness was just her having a really bad sickness bug. But, of course, it wasn't. In her pocket was a stick, with an ugly, red plus on it.

Bob was sat on his bed, reading 'Wuthering Heights', one of his childhood favorites, for the three-hundredth time. But, no matter how much he tried to concentrate, he just couldn't be pulled into the story. Sighing, Bob closed the book and put it in his bedside draw. Caitlyn had seemed really ill lately. Vomiting. Dizzy spells. Rapid weight loss.  Bob was really concerned. Was she bulimic? Was she really sick? Did she have cancer?! Bob's mind was a coffin full of awful thoughts. He laid his head in his hands and sighed heavily. Gino had been plaguing his mind a lot lately too. Not as much as when it happened- and it wasn't as painful to talk about. He still broke down sometimes when he talked about Gino- but not as much.

A soft tap at the door yanked Bob out of his thoughts. He got up and answered the door, glad to see Caitlyn.

Caitlyn stood at the door for a few moments.

"Hello, darling," Bob smiled. She couldn't take it any longer. She burst into tears and clung to Bob with desperation.

Bob was taken aback by Caitlyn's sudden emotional outburst. He closed the door and cuddled her on his bed.

"Oh, Caitlyn, dear! Whatever has made you this upset?" Bob asked caringly, stroking her head gently. Caitlyn handed Bob the pregnancy test-stick, shaking with emotion. Bob took the stick and flipped it over.

His heart stopped as he saw the plus on the stick. This was a pregnancy test... And it was positive. That meant that... CAITLYN WAS PREGNANT?!

Bob pushed Caitlyn gently out in front of him so that he could look at her.

"Is this yours?" Bob asked fearfully, of course knowing it was. Caitlyn asked, choking for control.

"Is- is it... Ours?"

Caitlyn nodded again, tears falling afresh from her eyes.

"But I thought you were on the pill! You told me so!" Bob replied, trying not to raise his voice.

"I-I was! But it's o-only 98% effective! I-I never t-thought that we'd end u-up being the 2%!" Caitlyn sobbed.

It wasn't her fault. She hadn't lied. It was just bad luck. VERY bad luck. Anger fled Bob, replaced with fear, guilt and panic. What had he done?! Why hadn't he waited?! Why didn't he have one in his draw just in case?!!

"Oh my God, Caitlyn," Bob said into her hair, "Neither did I."

"What are we going to do?!!" Caitlyn cried.

*FLASHBACK*

Franchesca is in the bathroom. Bob is sat on their bed, his heart thumping with anticipation and worry. His mind fizzes with what if-s and hopes. He jumps up, ready for the news as he hears an excited shriek come from the bathroom. Franchesca rushes in and nearly knocks Bob over, crashing into him with a hug.
