Jenny took a seat by the trembling woman with a soft smile at an attempt to comfort her. "My name is Jenny." She said softly, folding her legs in a criss-cross position.
"S-Sophie." The other human whispered, her thin, pale arms wrapping around herself as she shivered. Her soft blue eyes were darting back and forth between Max and the human sized plate filled with the same horror the Calinthro's were eating. An audible growl came from her torso that caused her to flinch in pain.
Jenny could see how hungry the poor woman was, and how hesitant she was to eat that bloody mess. She pursed her lips before opening her mouth and asking a question she had been debating herself as well. "Do you want to eat?" She said softly as she continued. "Because i-if you're afraid to eat it alone, I think I can force down a bite or two."
For a moment Sophie seemed shocked by the offer and turned her blue orbs to meet Jenny's own brown ones, sparkling curiously and happily. "Y-You'd put yourself th-through that...for someone you j-just met?" She said in a quiet voice.
"You look basically starving. Of course, I would. And we're both humans, almost in the same position. Except...looking at how your own 'master' is and the bruises all over you..." She trailed off, not feeling the need to finish the sentence.
Sophie only averted her eyes as she stood on shaky limbs and walked across the table to where her own plate rested, taking a seat in front of it. She watched as Jenny followed and sat behind her, a reassuring smile plastered on her face.
Though she was smiling, her insides were churning like butter as she sat in front of her own plate. Jenny had absolutely no desire to consume this shit. But if it meant helping a potential friend out, she'd gladly do it. After all, Derrick certainly wasn't her friend anymore. No matter what he thought.
Picking up her fork, she stuck it into the entrails and almost gagged at the squelching sound that emitted, a green filling spouting out from the inside. Hesitantly, she lifted the fork to her mouth and was now able to smell a...an almost sweet scent? Confusion overtook her disgust as she took a bite of the organ. She waited for the iron, bloody taste but it never came. This was sweet, and almost actually good if it weren't for the outside, as that tasted like an actual organ. Or what she imagined organ to taste like.
Jenny looked over to Sophie who looked to be as surprised as she was. After taking a small bite she had begun to dig right in, hungrily devouring the plate before her. And Jenny began to do the same, just not as quickly as Sophie was.
Derrick smiled down at Sophie and Jenny both. He then turned his gaze to Max who looked both angry and confused as he watched the humans. "How are they eating it?" He grumbled, his upper lip curled into a sneer.
"Oh, I added something sweet to theirs. I knew that this wouldn't really work for them, so I left ours the way we eat it, and fixed theirs up with a little surprise. You should do the same, maybe then Sophie won't be as frail and timid." Derrick responded with a smile, using his free hand to ruffle Sophie's hair playfully, which in fact earned a small giggle.
"She can eat what I eat or she doesn't eat at all," Max said with a growl in his tone, his eyes shifting from their almost black color to a bright, fiery red. All the white's of the eyes turned into this color, leaving nothing but a black dot in the center as pupils.
"Calm down." Derrick sighed. "You don't need to go full Calinthro on me. We need to maintain our human forms so we don't lose control. And I would rather not scare my own little pet." Derrick lowered his voice to a harsh whisper, purposefully making sure neither Sophie nor Jenny could hear him.
Max's eyes faded. He knew Derrick was stronger and would lose if he tried to pick a fight. So they both glanced at the humans to make sure neither of them saw. Sure enough, both were chatting down below and paying no mind to their master's talk. "Good point." He fell back in his seat and laughed. "So bug, you don't like my cooking but you'll Derrick's over here?"
Sophie tensed as her master spoke and her head shot into his direction. She had stopped mid-sentence as she spoke to Jenny and turned her full attention to the giant man sitting before her. "I-I..." She stuttered out, trying to think up a good enough excuse when Jenny's quiet voice cut in.
"I'm sure she does sir! But maybe she was just hungrier today than she usually is! I know I was!" She kept that fake smile up, meeting the Calinthro's eyes. She knew he could see the smug look in them because by the looks of his body Derrick appeared to be the much stronger of the two. So he wouldn't dare to lay a finger on her.
Max only scoffed in response and reached out, his fingers curling around Sophie suddenly and the woman let out a yelp. "I think it's time for us to go." He grumbled and turned his gaze to Derrick.
Jenny watched as her own new friend and Derrick's vanished into thin air, sending a shiver down her spine. They could just pop up, anytime anywhere. She found herself imagining walking along the floor when Derrick just teleported and wasn't paying attention as his large foot came crashing down on top of her and-
"Jenny?" Derrick said in a gentle tone, lowering his hand flat beside her. He wants her to like him. To love him. To accept him as her master and to have her be his little pet, and girlfriend. And he can start by allowing her to climb onto his hand on her own.
Jenny looked at his hand and back to him, wondering if it was some sort of trick. She watched his dark green eyes as they watched her and began to slowly crawl onto the fleshy surface. Now she was even more glad that the meal didn't taste so bad, because otherwise, she may just vomit all over his hand right here and now.
As she took a seat in his palm, she turned her chocolate brown eyes up to the demon with a scowl. She was still not happy about just being taken like that. "So...what now?"
