I watch Jane in her cell. The police arrested the guy, Jackson, Lacy's biological father. Lacy is sound asleep in the car with Harry.
"Who are you?" She asks me.
"Jane, what happened?" I ask her.
"I don't know you." She says.
"Jane, please tell me." I say to her.
"Listen, I don't talk to people that I don't know!." She says raising her voice at me.
"Mr. Payne, it's best you leave now." the doctor says pushing me out the insane asylum's room.
"What happens now?" I ask him.
"Old trauma resurfaced, she's gone a bit insane. Last night she tried to strangle a nurse. She just needs to take her meds and go to therapy. It may take weeks or months or years before she goes back to normal. May be never." He says.
Third person point of view.
As the days passed by, Liam and the gang kept coming back to visit Jane, or the person with the name. They truly didn't recognize the girl behind the bars. They prayed each day that she would go back to who she really was. Days turned into weeks which turned into months. 8 months to be precise.
But then hope was lost, slowly...
"God, I know I don't pray much to you unless someone is in trouble but, I miss my mommy. Daddy says she's sick. But tomorrow I turn five and I want her to be here for it." Lacy says with her eyes pressed closed.
