Chapter 7

I sit at my desk waiting for news, I hope Kaylie is ok, but I also hope that my job is going to be ok. I'm gonna call Katie. I dial the home number.

"Hello?" She answers.

"Hey sweet" I say.

"Daniel, why are you calling? You're supposed to be working, is everything ok?" She asks.

"Not really, I don't know yet, you know how I am always honest to you, I won't ever keep a secret from you, well there's been an incident, and I'm involved" I say.

"Babe, what's happened?" She asks worried.

"Don't worry ok, but one of my students tried to seduce me, she came to me after class claiming to not understand the work, I went to go over it with her and she was touching me and trying to kiss me, I was telling her to stop and get off me but she wouldn't, then I realised she looked out of it, she collapsed and I found ecstasy pills on her, she's been taken to hospital now, but I already told the principle and he believes me, it's all on her now whether I risk losing this job" I explain.

"I don't know what to say Daniel, we can only hope that she doesn't try and report it, even though you're innocent, it's your word against hers" She says. "How old is she?" She asks.

"She's 15, which makes it worse for me if she tries to put the blame on me, I'm waiting to hear any news on her and if I'm going to be ok" I say.

"I stand by you Daniel, I love you, whatever happens, we'll get through it ok, don't worry about it babe" She says.

"I love you too sweet, how are you and Sebastian?" I ask wanting to take my mind off what's happening.

"We're great, he's great, he misses his daddy, he smiled earlier, it was the cutest smile" She says.

"That's great sweet, I miss him too, both of you, I'll see you both later ok" I say.

"Ok, don't worry about it babe" She says. We hang up. My phone starts ringing about 5 or so minutes later, it's the principle, he went to the hospital with Kaylie.

"Hello Principle Perkins" I say as I answer.

"How are you doing Daniel?" He asks.

"As well as can be expected I guess, what's the news?" I ask.

"She's awake and talking, she says sorry about everything, she doesn't even remember much of what happened, I told her that she tried to seduce you and then collapsed, she's embarrassed about what happened and wants to forget about it all, your job is safe Daniel" He says.

"Oh my god" I say as I take a breath of relief. "Thanks sir" I say.

"But it does open a school investigation, she claims that some people gave her a drink, she was thirsty and they gave her a drink of juice and said she could keep it, she said they gave her the bag and said they were energy sweets, just full of sugar so she put them in her bag, we think she's being bullied or targeted and they put the ecstasy pills in the drink" He explains.

"Oh jeez, now I feel bad for her, she's a pretty quiet student" I say.

"I know, but I just wanted to say that you're safe, she's not going to report you or anything, just forget it happened" He says.

"I will, thanks sir" I say and we hang up. Oh my god, such a relief, I was so worried there, not only could I have lost my job, but I could have lost everything and been put in jail, she is underage and I'm her teacher. I get on with the rest of my day without anymore hassle. I go home to Katie.

"Hey what happened? You didn't call me, has there not been any news?" She asks as I walk through the door, I eyes fill up with tears and they drop down my cheeks. "It's ok Daniel, it'll be ok" She says hugging me.

"I'm ok, she woke up and was told everything, she barely remembers any of it and wants to forget it all, my job is safe" I say.

"That's great news, what will happen with her, she had drugs on her" She says.

"Not her drugs, she was tricked into drinking some juice that someone put the pills into, then they gave her the pills and told her they were sugary sweets" I say.

"Oh god, well, I hope the school gets to the bottom of it all, anyway, now we can forget it all, someone wants to see their daddy" She says, we kiss and she goes off into the kitchen, I go and find my son and hold him.

"Hello buddy, I missed you today, mummy told me you smiled today, I'm sorry I missed it, you're getting big boy" I say as I hold him.

Katie's POV

I feel bad about the girl, at first I was angry that she tried to get it on with Daniel, but him telling me what happened with her, I know it wasn't her fault, I hope the school can help her with her bullying. I watch Daniel cuddling with Sebastian for a few minutes, I love the love he has for him, he's such a great dad. If I hadn't of miscarried Alex, that's what we decided to name the baby, not after Alex though, but because it's a unisex name and we didn't get far enough into the pregnancy to find out if the baby was a boy or girl, but I know that Alex would have had a great life, even if me and Daniel did divorce and not get together, Alex would have been 2 going on 3 years old now. Sebastian is nearly 3 months old now, he's growing quick, time is going by so quickly. I go to the kitchen and get our dinner done.

"Sweet, could you get me a bottle for Seb please?" Daniel asks from the living room.

"I'm doing our dinner, you get it, they're in the fridge" I say back while cooking. I hear him coming up behind me.

"Food looks nice" He says as he goes to the fridge.

"It'll be done in about 10 or 15 minutes" I say. Daniel sorts our Sebastian's bottle and goes back to him. I get dinner done, just as Daniel finishes feeding Sebastian and puts him in his bouncer seat. We start eating our dinner.

"This is delicious babe, thank you" Daniel says while eating.

"It's my pleasure" I say as we eat. After we have eaten, I put Sebastian to bed and meet Daniel on the sofa to watch some TV.

"I appreciate you so much Katie, all you do for me, all you do for Sebastian, you are the love of my life" Daniel says, I look up at him.

"I love you too, I do all I do because I love you both and want to be the best to you both" I say.

"I think today, today just opened my eyes and made me realise how lucky I am, I could have lost my job today, if Kaylie had said that I tried it on with her, which may have meant that I lost you, and Sebastian, everything I live for" He says.

"Daniel, listen to me, ok, you wouldn't have lost me or Sebastian, I am your wife, Sebastian is your son, we love you, we would have sorted it out and got to the bottom of it, I would have believed you, we would have got through it all, together, we will get through anything together!" I say while looking him in the eyes. He leans in and gently kisses me, passionately, the kiss gets deeper and I lay myself back on the sofa and he is on top of me, never breaking the kiss, he moves his lips down to my jaw and along my jaw and down my neck, he then brings his lips back to mine as I start unbuttoning his shirt and feeling his chest, then the baby monitor goes off, making us pull apart and chuckle.

"Maybe another night" Daniel says kissing me again. The baby monitor continues to make noises.

"I'll go and sort him out" I say pushing him off me and getting up.

"No, I'll go to him sweet, you relax" He says as he gets up and goes. I sit back down and watch TV.
