Chapter 9

Katie's POV

It's been a little over 3 months, Sebastian is now just over 6 months old now, Daniel has been better with his job, Kaylie has been sorted out, the drugs investigation has been dealt with and those girls have been permanently excluded for what they did to her. Here at home life has tested us, me and Daniel have had arguments like very couple do, Sebastian has been a nuisance as well as an amazing son, and we've got through it all and come out stronger, we still love the bones of each other,

Daniel's parents visited a couple of weeks ago and although they were trying to help us with Sebastian by giving advice and stuff, it still frustrated Daniel a bit that his parents were telling us how to be parents, but I kept saying to him to just let it go over his head, Sebastian is happy and so are we.

It's Sunday morning, well, mid morning, we've decided to have a relaxing day, yesterday we were out all day with Alex, Adam and Lee having a friends day out, with Sebastian of course. They said they might come around later for a little while as we haven't seen them much lately.

"Katie, your phone is ringing" Daniel says bringing me out of my thinking. I look and see it's Matthew calling.

"That's weird, it's Matthew, I don't think he's ever called me before" I say.

"It must be important then" Daniel says as he feeds Sebastian, we're trying to get Sebastian to start eating solid food, whether it be baby food or our food blended up. I nod in agreement as I half nervous answer the phone.

"Hi, Matthew, is everything ok?" I ask.

"Katie, thank god you picked up, I think I need your help" He says.

"Of course, what's happening?" I ask.

"It's your mum, I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner but I thought I could help her myself without having to bother you, you've got enough going on-" He says and I interrupt him.

"What's wrong with mum?" I ask worried.

"Ok, well, about a week ago, she nearly got raped, she wanted to go to the shops so I drove her, I waited in the car for her and I saw her leave the shops and walk in the opposite direction to me, a man looking suspicious was following her, I watched her walk down an alley way followed by the man so I got out of the car and walked over to the alley, I wish I had run because I found her pinched to the wall against her stomach and the man had pulled her trousers down and was about to rape her, she had a cut lip which I guess he punched her, as soon as I saw, I tackled him and punched him so he was knocked out, I helped her out of there and got her home, I thought she was fine until the other day I found 5 empty cans of beer hidden in the bin, I found a box of beers under our bed, I got rid of the box but she must had noticed because just now I've found another box hidden in the wardrobe with 7 missing, she's back on the drink again, I don't know how to help her" Matthew explains.

"Crap! Ok, dammit! Just keep her at home, I'm on my way now" I say.

"Ok, she's asleep on the sofa at the moment, I think she was drunk" He says.

"Ok, just keep her sleeping, I'll be there soon, thanks Matt" I say and hang up.

"Sweet, what's happened?" Daniel asks.

"I've gotta go home, mum is in trouble, she was nearly raped last week, she's back on the alcohol" I say grabbing the car keys.

"I'm coming with you" He says.

"No, you need to stay here" I say.

"But what if she tries to hurt you?" He asks. "I don't want you hurt" He says.
