1.The Sad Beginning
Amelia woke up and pressed the snooze button on her annoying alarm clock. As she just began to doze off again it rang and she realized she was going to be so late if she didn't get up now. She got dressed and ran downstairs.
"Good morning mom!"
"Good morning sweetheart. Sleep well?"
"Yes, but so not enough."
Her mom laughed and as Amelia ate her breakfast she looked at the time.
"Breakfast was delicious but I've got to go!"
"Have a good day."
"You too mom."
On that note she put her shoes on and ran outside to the car where her dad was waiting for her. Her family wasn't rich but they weren't poor either. They were basically considered middle class. Amelia was an only child so she got a lot of things most kids wouldn't since they had siblings and she didn't. she grabbed her school bag as she said good bye to her dad and walked into school where she was met by her two best friends. Hayley and Marie.
"Hey Amelia!" They both said.
"Hey guys! I'm so excited its finally the start of our senior year!"
"Me too it's going to be great." Squealed Hayley.
They walked into their first class after the bell rang which they luckily had together. It was English and their teacher was pretty nice. Her name was Mrs. Johnston.
The day seemed to fly by slowly and after third period Amelia got a call to go to the office. She wondered what could it be. She didn't do anything wrong and she was an excellent student.
She walked into the office and it became silent as the people in there looked at her sadly. Amelia didn't understand what was going on. She got called into the principles office and there was a woman sitting with the principle.
"Hello Amelia please take a seat."
"Okay. Am I in trouble ma'am?"
"Oh dear no. But we must inform you of something that has happened."
Amelia nodded and the unknown woman began speaking.
"Hello dear. My name is Miranda Parker and I'm here from social services. I am truly sorry to inform you that your parents passed away in a car accident today."
Amelia gasped.
"What? Please. You must be playing some sick joke."
"I'm very sorry dear."
Amelia felt tears run down her cheeks.
"What's going to happen to me? Where am I going to go?"
"That's what I'm here for. This is your last day at this school so you need to collect your books and say goodbye to everyone because you are moving in with your aunt who lives in Miami Florida and starting at a new school in a few weeks."
"But I can't just do this."
"I know it's hard but your family is already planning the funeral and I'm in charge of your move."
"Oh. I-I guess I will g-go."
Amelia walked out of the office and ran to the girls bathroom. she sat there and sobbed for a long time until she finally got up.
After that she just felt numb. she gathered all her books from her locker and checked them into the library. She was allowed to go to her friends classes and say goodbye. Hayley and Marie were surprised and hugged their friend. She saw the pity in their eyes and even if they were her friends she didn't want that pity.
"I guess this is it guys." Amelia said.
"Promise to keep in touch." They said.
She saw that they were on the verge of tears and all three of them hugged again before Amelia had to leave. She walked out of school to the car which Mrs. Parker was waiting for her in. As she sat down and Miranda started driving she looked out the window as a tear ran down her face and stared at the rain that slowly started to fall.
