Recap

Layla cringed at the reminder of how she'd simply rushed to her house after the incident in the woods the previous day. Luckily, the ranch was not far away from her place, and Robin was a good horse who knew where to go.

"I'm fine, thank you! About yesterday, I uh wasn't feeling very well so the ride ended pretty quickly." When she spotted Robin, she quickly made her way to the dark creature. "Anyways, I plan on making most out of today, so goodbye, Jeremy!" she said waving her hand at the old man who simply laughed wholeheartedly, waving right back at her.

"Ready to go for a ride, Buddy? Guess what? We've got company today," she whispered to Robin while caressing his mane, a gushy smile on her face.

A short while after leaving the ranch on Robin's back, Layla found herself nearing a familiar, narrow path further away from her home. A small smile tugged at her lips as old memories replayed in her mind.

She looked around at the various trees that covered both sides of the path and spotted a horse with light brown fur, roaming around under the shade of a tree. Resting on the feet of that very tree was an anxious Julian who gently pulled on the vibrant green grass he sat on.

It seemed as if both horses missed each other, given that the silence in the peaceful forest was replaced by the neighs of both Robin and Buttercup. Julian's head automatically snapped up in awareness at the sound of a second creature's neighs.

His eyes grew wider at the sight of Layla, and his mouth fell open. He looked at her, scanning her figure from head to toes, wondering whether she was truly there, or whether his eyes were playing tricks on him. Layla hopped off Robin's back and slowly walked to Julian, a visible grin on her face.

"See something you like, Julian?" she teased him, as she always did.

Julian immediately snapped his mouth shut and released a small chuckle. "You came," he whispered, his eyes focused on hers, fearing she might disappear if he broke the eye contact.
