Recap

She allowed this information to sink in and returned his smile with a wide grin of her own. "So, you still wanted me to be your girlfriend?" she asked, excitedly.

Julian laughed at her reaction. "Always, Layla-bug."

Layla shrieked loudly, feeling extremely happy, until she frowned at Julian and slapped his arm.

"Hey! What was that for?" he said, rubbing the spot where she'd hit him.

"Why didn't you just answer me instead of staring at me like that without saying anything? You're the reason I started panicking, you jackass!" she said, glaring at him.

Two weeks went by in a blur as Layla went through a speedy recovery, which might have to do with the fact that one of the men in her life always stayed by her side to make sure she wasn't overexerting herself.

Sir Dunkin was often busy at the bakery, but Julian always found the time to sneak out and visit her once every day during his shift at the bakery and once more at the end of it. Sir Dunkin was surprised to see them both get along so well, and Julian explained that they'd settled their differences.

While the couple never explicitly mentioned to Sir Dunkin about their secret relationship, the older man was not blind to the look they gave each other. Layla's smile brightened a few notch whenever Julian was around, and both youngsters couldn't keep their hands off each other.
