Take note; Mr. Nano is the worst teacher in history. He and I only have one thing in common, we like quiet. But he likes to yell, and talk loud.

"Skyler, take your seat there," Mr. Nano boomed pointing to a desk in the corner. I walked silently to the other side of the room and sat down. Before I could get comfortable, the redhead girl sat in the seat right next to me.

"Hi, I'm Payton." She said. I smiled at her. Her eyes were big and blue. "What's your name?" She asked patiently.

Just then Mr. Nano passed out our schedules. I had math, then science, history, lunch, art, ELA, and Health. Sounded good to me.

"I have math, science, history, lunch, health, ELA, and gym. What do you have?" Payton asked. I pushed my schedule towards her so she could read it. "Cool! We like, have the same schedule!" Payton said, excitement in her voice. She seemed nice.

The bell rang to signal 1st period. I slowly got up from my desk, grabbed the agenda on my desk and slipped my schedule in the front pocket. Math. Payton was in the same class as me. I turned around but she wasn't there. Must be with a friend or something.

I got into math and stood around the room with the other students. The math teacher's name was Mrs. Blue. I liked her already. She sat me down in the front row and nearest to her desk. Good, because I didn't bring my glasses to school.

I saw Payton was in the seat behind me. I wasn't worried. I was good at math.

"OK students, I want to just ask, did anyone bring a notebook to school? It would be nice if you did." Mrs. Blue said. Half of the kids got up to go to their homerooms. We had to keep our bags in homeroom. But some kids were walking strait to some lockers. Payton came out to. "What?" She asked me. I shrugged and walked towards homeroom. Mr. Nano came running out and opened some lockers. I counted about 20. He saw Payton and I. "Here," he said, giving us our bags. Me and Payton had to switch bags. Although her bag was super soft. She took a locker close to where we were standing, and I took the one next to her.

After all of my stuff was in my locker, I got out a blue notebook an slammed the door shut. Uh oh. It had a lock. I hated locks. It had the combo on the side. I saw Payton shut the lock and put the combo in her pocket. I did the same. I don't know how I looked on the outside, but on the inside I was a nervous wreck. Locks. It had to be locks.

"Girls, your back! What took you?" Mrs. Blue asked. Payton saved us. She said back, "Mr. Nano didn't give us our lockers, so we had to do that quick." "OK." Mrs. Blue replied.

Throughout the lesson, I was stressing about the lock on my locker. What if I couldn't get it open? Would I get to my next class in time? I was a disaster.

"Can I collect your papers now?" Mrs. Blue asked the class. I hadn't seen the paper! To my luck, Payton asked, "five more minutes?" I nodded. "OK, five more minutes," Mrs. Blue said. She set her timer. I looked down at my paper. Adding Decimals. I was really good at this. 123.328+78.56=201.888. 234.45+89.2=323.65. I finished the paper just as her timer went off. She collected the papers as other kids talked

amongst themselves. I sat in silence until the bell rang.
