Chapter 6

The next day was sunny, and warm. I walked down to the bus stop, and Payton was waiting there for me. I waved to her, and she smiled back, and waved.

We got on to the bus together, and sat in the third seat. "Oh, I see you have a new friend." Wendy said, sounding happy for me. I smiled and nodded my head. "I'm Payton," Payton said, like an introduction. "Nice to meet you Payton." Wendy said.

When we got to homeroom, I took out my agenda. I had science first. I turned my schedule towards Payton so she could see."Thanks, I forgot mine at home." I shrugged and put my agenda in my bag.

"Alright class, take your seats please." Mr. Nano said in his same monotone. He reminded us about the quiz on Monday. Then looked at my bag and frowned. "Skyler, you can't have your bag in class, go put it in your locker.

My face turned red as I shuffled out of the classroom. I didn't have any idea how to do my lock still. I forgot to bring it to lunch yesterday. I went to my locker, pulled out my combo, and tried it. It didn't work. Again, I tried. Fail. I wanted to cry. Luckily, Kennedy saw me and my struggle and ran over.

" I'm supposed to be in the bathroom right now, but I don't care." She said to me. She showed me how to go to 22, then 14, then 23. I had opened it! I was so happy, I hugged her. She hugged me back. "Remember, left, right, left." She said as she walked away.

I had no idea what people were like. Now I think I finally know.
