Thomas hugged you as you left to start your job as Gate Keeper. After Thomas' little fiasco with Alby and Minho, Newt had thought it suitable that the doors were now watched at all times. Lucky for you, you were the Greenie and was granted the thrilling task of standing outside the giant walls all day.
"Don't worry Tom, I'm not even going to the Maze." You laughed at your brothers over worrying.
"Trust me, sis, I know how bad it is out there. Promise me you won't put a foot past the wall." Thomas demanded. You loved Thomas and how much he cared for you. You wondered why other Gladers didn't have brothers or sisters. You and Thomas were different that way. Ever since you first saw Thomas you knew you were related and same with him.
"Of course I won't, stop worrying!" You smiled, hugging him one last time.
"Come on Thomas, we've got to get to the Gathering." Minho sighed. With one last smile, Thomas turned to leave with Minho. "Have fun Y/N!" Minho called sarcastically. You laughed then jumped as you realised you were late for the call.

"I'm so sorry I'm late!" You shouted as you got closer to the East Door. One of the older Gladers, Jack, rolled his eyes as you sloppily joined the small line of Gladers standing in front on him. Looking down at the line you saw three other boys: one darker skinned boy with big brown eyes, another tall boy with bright red hair and at the end was your friend, Steve, who was the shortest of all of you.
"As I have already said," Jack shot a stern glare your way, "I am Jack and Newt has put me in charge off getting you shuck faced to set up." He began pacing. "Each of you will be allocated a Door which you will guard with your life. Now on to the rules. Rule one: no you go in or out, that includes you unless they have a Runners badge," Jack held up a circular piece of blue fabric with an R written with black marker pen. "Rule two: no distraction, Newt chose you for a reason, he trusts you will be on the ball at all times." You sniggered, you didn't know about the other guys but the only reason you were there was that you sucked at anything else, Newt figured you'd at least be able to just stand still. "Something funny Y/N!" Jack snapped, making you jump at the sound of your name.
"Not at all." You smiled very politely, almost jokingly polite. Jack decided to ignore your subtle mockery and continue with his over dramatic speech.
"Final rule: if you have any problems dealing with them yourself, I'm not your babysitter." Jack finished gruffly.

To your displeasure, you were given the West Door right on the other side of the Glade. You figured it was because of your little joke earlier on. Sitting with your back against the wall, the sun turned pinky orange. You saw Gally wondering amongst the Glade. He noticed you and grinned. You returned the favour with a small wink. Gally smirked shaking his head. This silently flirting wasn't enough for you. With your finger, you invited him over. Seeing you silent invite he began making his way to you. You knew this was wrong. What happened to no distractions? Who cared about Rule 2, you just wanted to be with Gally. Your heart began to race. Despite him beginning your boyfriend you still got butterflies every time you saw him. You got to your feet and greeted him with a tight embrace.
"How's my little Greenie?" He chimed, bopping your nose.
"Don't call me Greenie." You said sternly.
"Sorry. I love you." Gally whispered into your ear, making you skin tingle and your heart melt. How could you be mad at him?
"I love you too." You grinned, quickly giving him a peck on the lips. Clearly not satisfied Gally grabbed your waist and pulled you closer. Your faces were only inches apart, his multicoloured eyes watching your every move.
"Shuck, you're so beautiful." Gally sighed. Gently he kissed you as your hands tugged on the dirty shirt that covered his chest. A sinking feeling suddenly filled your chest.
"What if Tom sees us?" You gasped, pulling away quickly. Gally took a moment to catch up before rolling his eyes. Gally and Thomas hated each other. You could even say they were arch enemies. If Thomas found out about you and Gally he'd probably kill Gally and ban you from talking to any boy ever again. Why was life so unfair? Not only were you trapped in a maze but the two boys you loved most wanted to murder each other.
"Why do you have to be that shanks sister?" Gally sighed heavily.
"Why can't you too just work things out?" You asked. Gally's arms were still around you however, they were less tight.
"Because he's up to something Y/N. I'm telling you." Gally said for the hundredth time.
"Gally, I think he'd tell me if he was up to something, you're just paranoid." You told him again. He shrugged, a frown plastered on his face. "Look I don't want to argue with you, I want to do other things." You said flirtatiously, your two fingers slowly walking up against his chest. Gally chuckled and bit his lip.
"Let's go in here." Gally pointed at the Maze. "No one will see us." You gave him an unsure look.
"I'm not so sure." You said.
"You know I won't make you do anything you don't want but this is the only private place," Gally said, he had a point, "we'll only be a minute."
"Ok." You giggled letting him pull you past the Doors by your hand. You walked down the dark corridor together. It was darker than you thought it would be. As you got deeper you, your grip on Gally's hand tightened.
"This should be far enough," Gally said, you were thankful as you were quite far in the Maze. "No one will see us this way." Gally smiled encouragingly, seeing the fear in your eyes. "I'll keep you safe," Gally said with a husky tone as he pressed you to the wall and began to kiss your neck. You quickly forgot about any fears. A sudden gust of wind ran across your face but you were too distracted by Gally to realise what was about to happen. Biting your lip, you turned your head toward the door, giving Gally more access. As you opened your eyes you saw the doors half way closed. Your heart sank like a rock.
"Gally!" You screamed. He looked up confused then looked at the doors which I was pointing at. You both ran at the door shouting for help.
"Y/N!" You heard Thomas call as you saw him between the doors. You knew you wouldn't make it but you kept running. This might be the last time you saw him.
"Tom, I'm sorry!" You cried, you felt your eyes sting with tears. You could see Thomas moving his mouth but you couldn't hear what he was saying. The doors closed. Turning around you sank your head into Gally, weeping your eyes out. He held you tight. You could hear panting behind you, it was too dark to see what it was but before you knew what was happening something or someone had pushed Gally over.
"Get away from her!" Thomas shouted. "I'm gonna kill you! Did you drag her in here just that get back at me!" You could see the faint outline of Thomas and Gally as your eyes adjusted. Thomas was on top of him constantly throwing punches. You began crying, it was a horrible sight.
"We're together stop!" You cried, tugging at Thomas.
"What!" Thomas snapped, looking up at me. Gally managed to escape and stood up, his nose covered in blood. Thomas stood up too.
"You're with him!" He said, completely shocked and revolted. You nodded. Slowly he turned towards Gally who was holding his nose. He half mumbled half hissed some words before lunging at Gally again. You quickly ran round and stood in his way.
"Tonight's gonna be hard can we not have this convocation, we need to work together." You sighed. Thomas loosened up.
"I don't know what makes me sicker, the thought of you two or the night ahead," Thomas said.
