Click, whir, buzz.

You blood ran dry, your heart pounded and your skin paled.

You knew that sound. You knew that there was a griever just around the corner.

Did you try to outrun it? No – once grievers give chase you don't stand a chance. Your best bet was to hide. You grabbed the ivy on the wall and began to climb up. Of course you knew that grievers could climb, but if it doesn't spot you then it should just pass down below.

You climbed as high as you could and listened to the griever noises coming from below. You heard when it turned the corner, you heard as it approached, and thank god, you heard as it passed and continued on its way.

Phew, that one was close. You decided not to tell your boyfriend Newt about this close shave. He had never wanted you to become a runner and he would freak out if he heard what had happened. He'd probably refuse to let you in the maze ever again.

You waited ten minutes before starting your climb down. Your arms were aching from holding on for so long, but they weren't what caused you to fall to the floor. You put your foot on a piece of ivy, and once you had transferred your weight onto it, the piece of ivy gave way, and you went tumbling to the ground.

You screamed as the world rushed around you, and then everything went black.

Minho had heard you scream, and came running to where the noise came from. He found you on the floor next to a big puddle of blood that had seeped out of your head. With baited breath he checked your pulse. You were alive. He slung you over his shoulder and ran back to the glade.

When he arrived back there was a huge commotion – the medjacks took you to their hut to try and save you. When Newt heard, his stomach fell to the floor, he ran to the medjacks' hut. But the medjacks wouldn't let him in – they said that they needed all the focus that they could get. Newt sat on the floor outside with his head between his knees. And that is how he remained until many hours later when Clint and Jed finally left the room.

"How is she?" Newt asked instantly.

Clint and Jed looked exhausted and their hands were covered in blood.

"We've done all we can, we just have to wait and see if she wakes up. You can go and sit with her if you want."

Newt immediately went to your side.

It was many hours before you opened your eyes. You were in a strange place, wearing strange clothes, and there was a strange face looking down at you. You let out an involuntary scream and scuttled back, away from the strange boy. You had a pounding headache.

"Who the hell are you?" You asked.

The boy looked shocked, hurt even. "y/n, it's me, it's Newt."

"y/n?" You questioned.

"Yeah, that's your name." The boy called Newt looked seriously worried.

"No it's not." You said, but at that moment you realised that you had no idea what your name was.

"y/n, can you remember anything?" Newt asked tentatively.

"STOP CALLING ME THAT! That's not who I am." You screamed. You didn't know why you were getting so worked up, but you were confused and scared.

"Who are you then?" The boy asked, while reaching out to put a hand on your arm.

"DON'T TOUCH ME!" You yelled. You scrambled to your feet and pushed past the boy. You didn't know who you were, or where you were going but you kept moving anyway.

"Hey wait!" Newt shouted after you.

You were outside now, it was an odd place – like a farm placed in a concrete box. There was an opening in the wall, you headed that way. You were fast at running, but even so soon there was a circle of boys around you blocking your escape.

"Woah, y/n, what's up?" One Asian boy said.

"I don't know who you are! Just stay away from me!" You shouted, trying to push through the group of boys. The Asian boy wouldn't let you pass, he held onto your arms tightly.

"GET OFF!" You screamed, hitting the boy on the chest. You may as well have been blowing bubbles at him for all the good it did, his grip remained strong.

"Not till you come to your shuck senses." He replied.

Tears were running down your face now, you sobbed, begging him to let you go.

"Minho, let her go." A voice said from behind.

You spun around to see Newt.

"You sure?" The Asian boy asked.

"Yeah, looks like she's got amnesia, let me talk to her in private." Newt replied.

You looked into the eyes of this boy – who was he? And what was this strange (and delicious) feeling that he invoked?

The Asian boy looked down at you, "If I let you go, you promise not to run? You promise to speak to Newt?"

You nodded.

"Fine, I can run faster than you can anyway." He said, before letting go of your arms.

Newt carefully put his hand on your shoulder, "Come with me love." He said soothingly.

You instantly felt calmer. You might have not known who you are, or who he is, but you knew that he was someone who was important to you.

He let you to some trees, before turning to look at you. He stood wonderfully close.

"Do you really not remember anything?" He asked.

You shook your head.

"Do you really not remember who you are?"

You shook your head.

"Do you really not remember me?"

You shook your head again.

Newt's eyes filled with tears.

"But I know that you were – are important to me." You said.

Newt smiled. "Well let me remind you who you are. You are the most perfect girl in the world, in fact you are my world. You're the prettiest, funniest, nicest, bravest and most wonderful person I've ever met. You are the only reason that I get up in the morning, and I can only sleep with you in my arms. I love you, and I will do everything that I can to remind you of that fact every day."
