“Are you okay?” – Joey asked, and I was suddenly brought back to the present

“Yes.” – I replied

I got up and walked towards the kitchen.

“Want some coffee?” – I asked

She nodded. And I put the beans in the coffee maker, and waited.

“Why were you quiet after telling your story?” – Joey’s questions hit me

“No particular reason, I just got lost in the train of thoughts.” – I replied

“Something you not telling me?” – She asked

“Yes.” – I said

“Do you want to?” – She asked

“No, and trust me it’s not something to be bothered about.” – I replied

“Okay.” – She replied

I brought the coffee to her and sat beside her on the couch.

“Wanna watch a movie?” – I asked

“Nah, let’s just call it a night. Besides I’m tired.” – She said

“Well, I should be off then.” – I said getting up

“Bye.” – She said

I pecked her on the lips and left. I got out of her apartment, got in my car and drove towards my apartment.

On the way I thought of telling her the things I had just promised not to tell her, but I pondered over it and got to the decision that I will tell her when the right time comes. I reached my apartment, parked my car in the parking lot. I thought I saw a familiar car in the parking lot.

No! It can’t be, it was Ashlynn’s car. I must be hallucinating, thought a lot about her today so it must be the side effect. Ignoring Ashlynn’s car I walked towards the elevator. As soon as I entered the elevator someone kissed me…

“Hey! What do you think you are doing?” – I said pushing the person away who had kissed me

“You forgot me?” – A familiar mocking voice hit me

It can’t be, why now of all time…

“Why are you here, Anne?” – I asked

“Good evening to you too.” – She replied

“Why didn’t you kiss me back? The Aaron I knew would never have let a chance miss.” – She added

I looked at her for a while and then smiled and said,

“Because I am in a relationship.”

“Yeah, keep telling yourself that darling” – She said

I didn’t say a word.

“So, here’s the deal. I am in the city for two days, so we have only tonight.” – She continued

We had reached the floor; I walked towards my door and opened it.

“Are you even listening to me?” – She asked

“Yes, I am listening to you and as I told you, I am in a healthy relationship now.” – I replied frustratingly

“Dear, a relationship with your hand isn’t really considered as a relationship.” – She mocked me

I smiled and said,

“You have gotten good.”

“Well, I learned from the best.” – She replied

“Come here you.” – I said and hugged her

“Easy there cowboy. Save your energy for tonight.” – She said while being crushed by my arms

I let her go and said,

“I told you, I am in a relationship now.”

She looked at me in the eyes and said,

“Gosh! You are telling the truth.” – Her tone was like she was shocked

“Someone’s surprised.” – I said

“That someone has a reason to be surprised. I left you alone for a year and look at what you did to yourself.” – She said in a mocking way

I smiled and sat on the couch.

“Well, you can tell me about her while we drink. I brought snacks.” – She said and produced 4 bottles of champagne from the bag she was holding.

“Wow! That’s a lot of booze.” – I said, completely awestruck

“You know me; I never miss out an opportunity.” – She said

I brought two glasses from the kitchen and she filled them.

“Now tell me all about that girl.” – She said

And I started telling about Joey.

I woke up the next morning, on the floor. Wearing nothing but shorts, my head bursting because of the hangover. I got up and looked on the bed to find my shirt and instead a wild sight laid there before me.

“No, don’t tell me we had done it.” – I said to myself

Anne opened her eyes and said,

“You’re up. You know last night was amazing.”

Just then Joey entered the room…
