Epilogue

Ten years have passed since Aaron's death. Everything has changed except her memories. She still remembers him like it was yesterday. Josie is now the director of one of the world's largest industry. She seems happy but she is dying inside. His words start repeating in her mind,

She didn't listen to him. Now she has everything; big house, lots of money, people working under her but she is missing one of the most important thing that does make a difference, Love. Love of family, love of someone, love of friends; she is missing them all. But she can do nothing, the one thing he asked for her she couldn't do it. She couldn't love anyone, not after her trust was betrayed. She was just like her birth father, she couldn't let anyone in. She couldn't make the mistake of letting someone in and then getting hurt. She sacrificed love because she didn't want to get hurt but she lost everyone because of that. She shut herself emotionally and that was her biggest mistake because now she was all alone.

She walks out of her office and sits in the car. Her driver know where she goes at this time everyday as he starts driving. The car stops in front of the cemetery and Josie steps out. She starts walking and reaches Aaron's grave. She kneels down in front of the grave as tears resurface out from her eyes. She has become so good in hiding her tears that now nobody even notices, but she is dying inside. Drops of tears roll down her cheeks as she remembers how she avoided love after his death, how she shut herself out. She hasn't met her mother since she took over the company ten years ago. Every day she comes here and cry it all out, in front of the person who was her mentor, her dad, her everything.

"What should I do, Dad?" - She sobs

In the front of the cemetery a person is standing. He knows that she comes here every day as he starts crossing the graves towards her. Finally he sees her, she is sitting down like any other day and she is crying. He walks forward as he kneels down and pulls her in an embrace. She tenses, but as soon as she smells that scent she relaxes and cries in his arms. He has always been there for her. He loves her but he is afraid and she likes him too but she is too proud to show it. But today is not like any other day, she is too much broken now and she wants to end this suffering once and for all. He is the only person who can see through her false facade, who has been with her through everything. They have known each other for almost 9 years now.

She finally stops crying as he holds her tighter now. She pushes back and he releases her, looking directly into her eyes. They have been best friends for almost 9 years now but never has he seen her this vulnerable. She is broken completely now. She looks down and finally speak,

"Thank you."

His eyes widen in disbelief. In the 9 years he had known her, never had he heard her say those words. He nods and just sits beside her.

"Daniel?" - She says

He looks towards her and she hugs him. And she finally whispers the words he had been waiting to hear forever.

"I love you."

And he whispers it back.

6 Years Later

A pregnant Josie is sitting in a garden chair in the lawn while Daniel is barbecuing with their 4 year old son. She is finally happy, she has a loving husband and a great son. They named their son Aaron as they both shared deep connections with him. Everyone was coming today at their house in the country side today. Ashlynn, Uriah, Dr. Lambert and her husband, Anne and her husband; all are coming.

A car pulls up in the parking as Dr. Lambert steps out. Aaron runs forward saying 'grandma' and she picks him up.

"So how's my handsome grandson?" - Holly says

"I am great. I am helping dad with the food." - Aaron replies

"Hey I am here too." - Shane (Holly's husband and Daniel's dad) says jokingly

Aaron puts his arm forward and hugs him too.

"Hey! Don't forget your cooler grandma." - Ashlynn says from behind and Aaron slips down and hugs her too

"Cooler grandma, Mom? Seriously?" - Josie says laughing

"Yeah, you wish you were cool. I am obviously the cooler one." - Holly says

"Hey now don't you two fight. You might be cool grandma but obviously I am the coolest grandpa." - Uriah says as he pulls over

"Yeah, a lawyer grandpa is so cool" - Ashlynn mocks Uriah

"So Aaron, who is the coolest?" - Shane asks as they all look at him

"Grandma Anne." - Aaron shouts and runs towards Anne who is getting out of her car

She hugs him and says,

"Sorry guys, but like always grandma Anne wins"

She laughs at them picking Aaron up.

Alex (Anne's husband) takes over for Daniel as he sits beside Josie.

"How are you feeling?" - He asks

"You know the usual." - She smiles as she rests her head on his shoulders

"I love you Mrs. Daniel." - He says

"I love you too Mr Daniel." - She says smiling

Aaron is playing with Uriah and Shane while Holly watches.

"They look happy." - Ashlynn says looking at Josie

"She deserves happiness." - Anne replies smiling

Ashlynn also smiles. She finally has a family that loves her.

Holly looks at everyone and speaks to herself

The atom of life is like any other atom. Like an atom has electrons and protons; just like it life has electrons which are the negative or sad moments, the protons which are the positive or happy moment and the neutron which are the neutral or uncertain moments when you can't figure anything out. But these all together make an atom, the atom of life...

She looks up at the sky and whispers,

"You were right, Aaron. You were right."
