“So, what now?” – I turned towards Joey and said

“This.” – She said and ran towards me and kissed me

I kissed her back and we both forgot all that had happened and embraced the moment, kissing each other like we may never get a chance again. We were brought back to reality by Dr. Lambert as she passed by saying,

“Get a room, you two.”

I smiled and embraced her tightly in my arms.

‘Sometimes all you need is a hug from the right person and all your stress will melt away’

“I missed you.” – I said

“Me too.” – She replied

And then we walked towards her apartment.

Joey opened the door and I entered after her and closed the door.

“Let me make you dinner.” – She said

I was shocked; Joey had never asked to make dinner. She usually ate outside.

“You can make dinner?” – I asked, my curiosity rising

“Of course I can.” – She replied

And then she walked towards the fridge and started taking out things to prepare dinner.

“Just sit there and wait.” – She said

I smiled and obeyed.

“By the way, what am I getting for dinner today?”- I asked

“It’s a surprise.” – She said and went to the kitchen

I sat there and waited. Finally she came with the dinner.

She gave me my plate, it was spaghetti. As soon as I took the first fork in my mouth, I knew it. She couldn’t cook. But I still ate it and finished the whole plate.

“So, how was it?” – She asked

“It was great.” – I lied

“There’s more.” – She said

“Aren’t you eating?” – I asked

“No, I’m full.” – She replied

“Then bring me more.” – I said

And she went with my plate, to get me more if I could survive it.

I guess we both were trying to make up for our mistakes by doing something. She was cooking for me and I was eating for her. But in context, I was suffering more.

She came with the filled plate and gave it to me, I continued eating.

“You really like me, don’t you?” – She asked

I looked at her with confused eyes and my mouth full.

“I asked because you are eating the food that I made, even though it tastes like garbage.” – She said smiling

I smiled too and continued eating.

“You can stop, you know. You don’t have to eat it.” – She said

I continued eating, without saying a single word.

Suddenly she grabbed my plate and pulled it away from me.

“That’s it; you don’t need to punish yourself for my fault.” – She said angrily

I got up and took the plate from her, putted it on the table and then turned and kissed her.

She kissed me back, her arms around my neck. And we kissed, like we had never kissed before. We kissed like the sun rising slowly but steadily. We kissed for so long that when we finally broke it took so long to get our breath back and when it did, we embraced each other and drowned in that moment of passion again. That kiss was out of this world, my mind was going crazy. And then I finally pulled Joey back,

“We must stop, or else I wouldn’t be able to control myself.” – I said

“Me too.” – She replied smiling

We looked at each other for some time and then I spoke,

“Promise me something, Joey.”

“What?” – She asked

“Promise me that even if there are misunderstandings between us, we will never stop talking to each other. Instead we will talk and figure it out together.” – I said

She looked at me for a while and then said,

“I promise.”

I nodded and then got up to leave.

“Where are you going?” – She asked

“Home.” –I replied

“Don’t go, please. Move in with me.” – She said

I looked at her, shocked on what she just had said.

“What did you say?” – I asked

“Move in with me Aaron.” – She said

“Why?” – I asked

“Because I really like you, and I don’t want to lose you again.” – She replied with tears in her eyes

I moved forward and wiped the tears off her eyes. I cupped her face in my hands and said,

“I told you Joey, that I will never let tears come out of those eyes. Don’t cry. I will move in with you, I also don’t want to lose you again. But I never wanted to push you, that’s why I never asked you to move in. But since you are asking me to move in then I have a proposition for you. Move in with me, Joey.”

She hugged me and whispered,

“Yes.”
