A/N: It's the smut missing in part III. So folks, have fun.

It was on the next day. Farley had breakfast with Mare and Myra, both taking about the plans for the technie towns, especially Myra who was born there. Now she was a contact for Cameron, who went back home to look out for her family and now prepared a mutiny. It seemed to go well enough whereas the return to Tuck had only one helpful result which was mostly a private one, Farley admitted to herself. Shade grasped the past events quickly but his shock over them wore off slowly and he was in no state to participate in missions for a while. Even though he'd stormed from his room to hers this morning and woke her, like wanting to dissipate her fears.

Farley replied to a question from Myra and was in the middle of a sentence when she saw him enter the mess hall from the corner of her eyes. She had to force herself to finish her statement. Shade had stayed with Clara, so they got used to each other, as Clara was shy with strangers. Now she was crying in his arms. Farley rose with a muttered apology and went to them.

"It's my fault," Shade explained, "one moment she was playing, then I tried to teleport us and she ... puked on me."

Farley stared at them, disbelieving. Though his shirt was definitely dirty. "Then I really hope she isn't like you," she said dryly. She took Clara from him but the wailing didn't stop. A sigh left her throat. "That's enough, I'll bring her to the healer now. Shh, dove." She glanced at Shade, saying, "there'll be some spare clothes for you, too," and for some reason, she had to grin.

The healer Lila Winters, according to Farley's wishes, refrained from using her ability immediately. She'd been a medic even before she admitted to be a Newblood and knew other treatments. She examined Clara at first, stating it was only a cold. "I'll prepare some medicine, General, and keep her for now, Do you agree?"

Farley nodded while Lila stared at Shade, curiously so, but she didn't comment on him. "We'll have a look at the stock in the meantime," Farley said, caressed Clara once more and pulled Shade along.

The stock was deserted, as most of Tuck. The island had been evacuated for security, but she was glad it had never been attacked for real, mostly because of those brave few who'd stayed back.

"I remember the last time we were here," Shade mentioned. "It doesn't seem long ago at all, to me at least. I sneaked in here just after we talked to my parents about how we would get Mare out of the claws of your dad," he said. "But no offense."

"None taken," she answered, "and I remember you staring at me instead of your family the whole time I explained our 'plan'."

"Umm-"

She grinned. "Actually, it's still hard to believe Clara was already in me at that time."

"She was?" He blushed, more than before. "I assume that makes sense. What a badass."

"As I said." She smiled as she searched though the boxes to find him clothes and some more things while he wouldn't stop giggling. "What is it?" she demanded to know.

He leaned against the shelves and started to play with her hair. "You think we have a moment?"

" ....what?"

He cackled - again - and laid a hand on her waist, coming closer. "I need to take off this shirt anyway, but what about you?" he whispered. She thought about calling him out, but to be honest, she'd thought of the same thing. It was just that she was used to plan out every minute of her day, or nothing would function, yet here he was, asking her to look after herself and her needs and right now that he proposed it, Diana didn't want, couldn't imagine to say no. She kissed him, pushing against him so the shelves rattled.

"I take that as a yes," he said between their kisses, panting. He went to go further, but she pulled away slightly. "No, wait, I'm sure I've seen condoms somewhere, and we'll look for them first."

"Right," he agreed, "I wouldn't have forgotten either."

"I'm sure of it. Now search with me"

They parted slowly, in anticipation of more. It didn't long to find the contraception, but long enough to raise their desire. They rushed to an empty room, distracted by kisses, and looked the room just a second before they crashed onto a dusty bed. Sunlight fell through shutters on their skin, revealed more by every shed piece of clothing, and the warmth tickled Diana as much as Shade's touches. It took much more than a moment, as he kissed all of her scars, old and new ones, from injuries and from stretch arks, while she marvelled at how he was perfectly like before, to every little detail she'd come to love. It was both relieving and unsettling, but she forgot her doubts as their love-making became more intense. This was rejoice and no time for questioning. He came too quickly but she couldn't be bothered when he used his mouth on her, to more than her satisfaction.

"A beautiful day to be alive," he said afterwards. "Now I want to see the Red Dawn, too."

She laughed heartily. "I'll make sure of it."

"Of course you will, my love."
