Their Fire

42 5 6

They yell
The flames emerge
They scream
The fire roars
They erupt
The fire consumes
They cool down
And pour water over the flames

The fire refuses to go unnoticed
So it leaves a scar
That they wash away

But the people who witnessed the flames
Can't run and hide away
We sit here and wait
For the fire to reemerge

Watching our support beams
Fall away to ash
Watching our windows
Smolder and melt
