She shied away
From his smile
She shied away
From his light
She shied away
From his grasp
Because she was afraid that he would hold her too tight

However
She yearned for someone to comfort her
But she either chased them away
Or they got too close

She just needed someone to be there
But all she had was that little stuffed bear

That little stuffed bear
Would hear her cry at night
And it wouldn't have to say anything
Because he made it all alright

She held him tight and he never pulled away
He cared
And loved her all the same

He would listen to her issues
And not say a word
But let her hold him tight
As if he could

She grew up
And that little stuffed bear
Watched her disappear
She still had searched
For somebody to be her bear
But now
She had left
And no one else was there
