Letting out a yawn and stretching, Drew sleepily reached out for Reve. When she noticed an absence of his presence, she opened her eyes and sat up. Attempting to look around for him whilst her eyes were still adjusting to the light, she caught sight of the time. It was just past ten in the morning. She'd woken up later than usual. It would've been a problem on any other day but being Christmas, she didn't have to go to work.

"Reve?" She called out into the empty hallway. There was no reply.

"It's okay, Drew. He'd probably just gone out for something. It's Christmas day." She muttered to herself.

She was meant to discuss whether they should both let Skylar and Finn know that Reve is still alive. They were coming over later for Christmas dinner and Reve would probably want to spend Christmas with his wife too. They had gotten caught up in the fun of baking and then they ended up falling asleep after a tiring day.

Seeing her phone on the bedside table, Drew walked over from the doorway and picked it up. She called Reve and waited for him to answer. After a few rings, it went to voicemail so Drew hung up.

Relief flooded through Drew when she heard the doorbell ring. She was halfway down the stairs when she realised that it could be someone else, not Reve. Glancing down at the clothes she'd slept in, she decided she was too far down the stairs now to go back and change. Her shirt was only slightly creased and her skinny jeans were still in tact. They had made her knees slighty sore at the back, but they were fine otherwise.

Upon opening the door, Drew came to sight with someone who she never expected to see again.

~Flashback~

"Hi. Erm... Are you okay? You look a bit pale." The stranger on the other side of the door asks.

Drew nods slightly. "Yeah. Sorry, it's just that... You look like someone I know. Knew." She corrects herself.

"Well, I guess I got the right house then." He holds out a hand. "I'm Logan."

A dry laugh escapes Drew's lips. "Logan? As in Logan Wilder?"

Not quite understanding her hatred for him, Logan shruggs. "Yeah. So, you must be Drew, Reve's wife." He retracts his hand, realising she isn't going to shake it anytime soon.

"Not anymore. He's dead. In case you didn't know." Drew attempts to slam the door in his face but Logan holds out his hand, keeping it open.

The harsh Winter air is numbing his fingers and giving him chills. "What is your problem?"

Scoffing, Drew raises an eyebrow. "What is my problem?"

"I don't know. That's why I asked you. But for what it's worth, I think you have a few." He jokes.

"My problem is that my husband died. There wasn't even a body to bury and though we still held a funeral, the one family member he had never showed up. So tell me, where were you then? And why the hell are you here now!?" She gritts her teeth.

Shifting his weight to the other side of his foot, Logan sighs. "I know. I know I wasn't there for your wedding. I also know that I never showed up for the funeral. I regret it everyday. But I'm here now."

"That's not good enough. It meant the world to Reve that you were gonna be there and then you went and cancelled last minute. You could've at least showed up for him. He loved you so much and for what? You couldn't even bother to show up to his funeral?" Angrily, Drew questions.

"He talked about you all the time. That's why I'm here now. He used to send me letters, half of them unopened on my bedroom desk. When he died, I went through them and he wrote that if anything were to happen to him, he wanted me to take care of you. So I got on the first plane that I could when I found that letter." Drew was ready to close the door again but when Logan speaks up, she is stopped. "And if you want to know why I never showed up? When we were younger, me and Reve, we lost our parents here. I've never been back to New York since. I moved away because all that this city only holds is sorrowful memories of my grief." He sucks in a breath of air. "All that I see when I look on the floor of the pavements here is the blood of my parents. I know. I know that it's not an excuse, but it's a reason. Please try and look past it." Logan pleads.

Giving it a moment of thought. Drew whispers back her response, "I'm sorry. I can't let you in."

As she closes the door, she catches Logan speak softly, "I think they would have liked you too."

~Present Day~

"Drew, I know that you don't want me here. You made that very clear last time. I just had to try again. I didn't want you to be alone for Christmas so I thought I would come but... I should probably go ba-" Logan was cut off when Drew pulled him into a tight embrace.

"I'm sorry. I was hurting, so I hurt you. And that isn't an excuse..." Drew let go of him and looked him in the eye. Those same emerald eyes. "But it's a reason."

A grin formed on Logan's face. "Are you gonna let me in?"

"Sure. But I'm just letting you know in advance, I charge by the hour." Logan raised his eyebrows, making Drew realise what it just sounded like she said. "I mean, for shelter. Not... Other services. But it was just a joke anyway." She clarified awkwardly.

Stepping in to her home, Logan placed his suitcase in the front porch. He followed Drew to the kitchen, where she offered him a warm beverage.

"Is that the only reason you're back?" Drew enquired. "Because of the letter?"

He nodded. "And to give you your Christmas present, which you'll get tomorrow. Once I find where it is in my suitcase."

~A short while later~

It was affirmed to Drew Logan didn't know Reve was still alive. She didn't even care anymore if any of the guest in her living room found out Reve was alive anymore. All she wanted was the people she loved to be with her all at once. Finn, Skylar and Logan all had a right to know he was alive but she knew that decision wasn't up to her.

She called Reve one more time before she placed her phone back in her pocket and took the tray of maple lattes to the living room.

"You can all get your own maple lattes from the other side of the room, seeing as none of you wanted to help me in the kitchen!" Drew called as she walked in the room.

"Logan, you're the new guy." Finn exclaimed.

Skylar rolled her eyes, "That means get up and go bring that tray here!"

Drew set the tray down on the coffee table in front of the window. Her friends were gathered around her fireplace on the rug so she took a cup for herself and made her way to join them. She came face to face with Logan, as he went to retirieve the tray.

"Stop!" Finn shouted abruptly.

Panic started to spread through Drew. "Oh my God! Is there a spider somewhere?"

"What? No." Finn laughed. "Look up."

Drew was relieved but when she saw the mistletoe above her and Logan, the panic returned.

"Who the hell put mistletoe up there?" Drew questioned angrily.

Everyone looked at each other. "It wasn't us. It had to have been you." Drew rolled her eyes. She figured it must have been Reve before he left this morning.

"Sorry, I forgot. I didn't actually think anyone would stand under it." Drew grudgingly explained.

Skylar narrowed her eyes, "So, when are you two gonna kiss?"

"You don't have to do anything you don't want." Logan whispered to Drew. "I'll just walk off. Don't worry."

Both Skylar and Finn watched on by, waiting for some sort of response. "It's okay. Finn and Sky aren't gonna drop it." She whispered back.

The pair shared a quick kiss. Before they awkwardly went their separate ways, only to be reunited in front of the fireplace again.

"That was rubbish. I know it's been a while since you've kissed anyone, Drew, but you really need to up your game!" Skylar scolded.

Drew continued to ignore comments that were made by Skylar and Finn. Her attention was on the front door. She was waiting for Reve to walk through any minute. But with the minutes passing by and turning to hours, Drew felt her hope shatter as time itself passed.
