chapter 8

With Jack in the hospital, the last few weeks have been absolute hell. Zach continued hitting on you, but you just wanted Jack. And only Jack. You tried explaining it to Zach but he wouldn't listen.
(Lizzy's pov)
One morning I wake up from multiple missed calls and texts from Jack. This hasn't happened since the accident so I immediately called him back. He picks up right away.
Jack: "hey babe, I've got some news you probably want to hear"
Me: "What?" I ask with tears running down my face.
Jack: "I get to go home tomorrow! You're the first one I've told and I'm hoping to surprise the boys, so dont tell them! I can't wait to see you."
Oh no. What do I do about Zach? Do I tell him or do I not? I think to myself
Me: "That's great! I can't wait to see you either." We end the call and I call Corbyn. When he picks up..
Corbyn: Hey Lizzy! Is everything alright?
Me: You know how Zach has been hitting on me lately?
Corbyn: Yeah..
Me: Jack should be getting out of the hospital soon, what do I tell him?
Corbyn: Well do you feel the same? For Zach?
Me: That's the thing.. I don't know.
Corbyn: Lizzy, you can't like Zach. Jack loves you and you love him too. I can tell by the way you look at him. Zach is in the wrong right now. Do you really want to like someone who's trying to steal his best friends girl? I wouldn't.
Me: But what do I tell Jack?
Corbyn: To be honest I think you're just missing Jack and the attention he was giving you, and now that Zach is giving you that and Jack can't, you're just falling for him. Hopefully when Jack comes back you'll realize how you feel about them both and you with have to say anything to him. But we have an interview to go to right now so I gotta go. I'm sorry I'll talk to you later.
Me: Bye..
About an hour later you get a text from Zach.
Zach: hey lizzy, wyd?
Me: just cleaning up my bedroom, wbu
Zach: can you come over? the boys are growing shopping and i said id watch the house.
Me: idk
Zach: come on, please? nobody gotta know ;)
Me: okay fine. ill be there in half and hour
Not knowing what he had in mind, I wore some black leggings and a logang sweatshirt with a little makeup. I call an Uber and go over to the boys house. I knock on the door and Zach opens it up wearing some shorts and no shirt. What have I gotten myself into? I think.
"You wanna watch a movie?" He asks.
"Sure. You choose which one." He picks a horror film while I go sit down on the couch and he sits down next to me. Before I can scoot over he puts his arm around me and I catch a whiff of his heavenly scent. About half way through the movie he leans into kiss me and before I know it, my shirt is off and it's getting pretty serious.

(Jack's pov)
"Jack Avery? We got your tests back and you can actually go home tonight, so if you'd like too, you can." My doctor tells me. I decide I am going to surprise Lizzy by going to get her a bouquet of flowers and stop by her house tonight. I call an Uber and get the plan in motion. I knock on her door and wait for a few minutes, but she doesn't answer so I assume shes at my house with the boys so I go there. I unlock the door and see one of the most horrible sights I have ever seen.
