chapter 19

I wake up in a cold sweat. I have to tell Jack. I have to. I text him.
Me: are you awake?
He responds a few minutes later.
Jack: yeah... is everything okay?
Me: can i come over?
Jack: it's 4 am lol
Me: i need you right now
Jack: alright, but come in quietly
I drive to the boys' house and walk up to the front door. Jack was out on the patio waiting for me.
"Are you okay?" He asks. I sit next to him and he holds my hands.
"I need to tell you something, but I don't know how." I can't get my eyes to reach his.
"Its okay baby. You can tell me."
"I had a dream. It was a bad dream. I dont know what it means, I'm sorry."
"What happened Liz?"
"A few days ago I went to set with Logan. There I met this guy named Matt?" I could feel him tense up, but I continue anyways. I had to let it out. "I told him about you right away, and he said we could be friends. He said thats all he was looking for. During our date he was constantly texting me. He wanted to fuck, but since I'm with you I told him no. He came to my place  when he knew I was back. Logan answered the door and told him to get lost. But I just woke up from a dream. I cheated on you. With Matt. I'm so sorry." I start crying and he puts his head on mine.
"It's okay baby. It was just a dream. I didn't mean anything. I still love you." He says.
"But-"
"But nothing. It was a dream. A meaningless dream. It's okay baby." He kisses my forehead head and I lean on his shoulder. We stare up at the stars for the next hour.
"I should probably get going." I tell Jack.
"I love you." He says with a grin on his face.
"Bye." I smile back at him and drive back to the apartment before Logan noticed I was gone.

"Where'd you run off to?" Logan teases me as I walk through the door.
"Oh, no where." I tell him.
"Where did you go?" He asks again, this time in a serious tone.
"I was at Jack's, don't worry."
"And what exactly were you two doing at 4 am?" He wiggles his eye brows.
"We were just talking, damn." I laugh.
" 'just talking.' Got it." He laughs too. I walk back to my bedroom and fall asleep on my bed, glad that Jack knows everything and still doesn't hate me.

(Jack's pov)
The next morning I wake up to the smell of pancakes. I follow the smell down the stairs and into the kitchen.
"It's not safe to fuck outside." Jonah tells me.
"What?" I ask.
"I saw you go outside. I also saw Lizzy pull up in our driveway. I hope you cleaned up the mess out there." Jonah says.
"We didnt do anything, chill."
"Then what did you do? If you weren't screwing her?" Corbyn chimes in.
"We were talking!"
"Whatever you say..." Zach laughs. Daniel places a plate of warm chocolate chip pancakes in front of me.
"Daniel is the only one who loves me in this house, I swear." I joke. After breakfast I text Lizzy to see if she wanted to hang out with me today. She says yes and I tell her I'd pick her up in an hour. I felt like I was being watched ever since Lizzy left last night. I had to get out of the house.

(Lizzys pov)
All morning I didn't get a text from Matt, which surprised me since he always texted me. But I did get one from Jack, and now we have plans to go for a hike. An hour later Jack picks me up and we drive to the forest. I couldn't help but notice there was a car following us pretty much the entire way there. I knew that car, but couldn't figure out where I've seen it. We pull into the forest parking lot and I watch the car that I thought was following us zoom past it. We both get out of the car and Jack takes my hand. He doesn't let go the full two hours we were there, either.
"I love you babygirl." He says.
"I love you too." I tell him.
