birthday surprise

chapter 9

(Jack's pov)
I walk into my house with a bouquet of flowers ready to give to Lizzy and to surprise the boys. But when I get in all of the lights were off, and I heard the TV on in the other room and I figure they're just watching a movie. I sneak up behind the door to scare them all but when I start to yell "boo" I realize my biggest fear was happening. I see the love of my life making out with my best friend. I immediately fall to the floor due to a major headache and the world goes black.

(Lizzy's pov)
While I was kissing Zach we heard a loud crash by the door. Zach turns on the lights and we immediately see Jack laying there with his head cut open. I call 911 and Zach tries to wake Jack up. They arrive pretty quickly luckily and put Jack on a stretcher again. They wheel him out the door and into the ambulance. Zach and I both look at each other with worried eyes as he calls the other boys telling them to come home as soon as possible.

(Corbyns pov)
As we're checking out the food Jonah gets a call. He exchanges a lot of mmhm's, cuss words, and finally says we're on our way and hangs up the phone. We quickly load the food up in our car and drive as fast as we can home. Jonah explains everything in the car.
"Okay so that was Zach. Apparently Lizzy came over to hang out and they were watching a movie when Jack came into the room and basically fainted. He's on his way to the ER right now and they're waiting for us to get back so we can all go together."
As soon as he said that Lizzy came over I knew exactly what happened. The night of the accident the doctors told me that if Jack is able to come home, that we need to let him chill and not give him any stress. Lizzy told me she was feeling something for Zach, and obviously Zach liked her, so Jack must've seen them doing something and that's what caused him to faint. We finally get home and Zach and Lizzy load up in the car. Lizzy looks at me right away to see if I figured out anything. I just glared at her in response. I told her not to do anything stupid to hurt Jack. And what did she do? Exactly that. Physically and mentally. Then I get a text from her.
Lizzy: you know, don't you?
Me: of course i know. it's completely obvious. but im done talking to you. you're unbelievable.
Lizzy: im sorry, but how should i have known that he would come home tonight?
Me: how should you have known? lizzy he wanted to surprise you. you should've been loyal. and sorry doesn't cut it. this is your fault and you know it. you never should've kissed zach, or whatever you two did. because of you two were going to the hospital again.
I could see a tear roll down her face and splatter onto her phone. She turns it off and looks out the window.
