Can I really love?

Chapter 7

Then one day I went on a run to help out hank with his mutation as he wanted me there as well as Charles, so we started with running and I was ahead of both of the boys, Charles slightly behind me and then hank slightly behind him and then we started to walk as Charles got a little tired

"In each of us, two natures are at war" Charles said and my eyes lighted up at my favourite book

"Robert Louis Stevenson Jekyll and Hyde" me and hank said at the same time and then smiled at each other

"Top marks" Charles said to both of us and smiled at us widely

"It wasn't really about good and evil was it hank? It was about man and his animal nature and how he struggled to control it, to conform and its that struggle that's holding you back" Charles explained to him and hank took that in and I smiled at him and nodded

"Jekyll was afraid of what he could be capable of" Hank said

"And you are too" I said back to him and he looked at me and smiled a little. We then were helping out Sean with some wings that would help him fly with his sonic pitches, Charles and hank were fastening him and I was sat on a chair examining Charles' blood from the sample he gave. As soon as the rest found out they also had given me a sample of their blood, which I was extremely grateful for and Charles had gotten me a sample of my own blood and made me not think of it as a needle as I have a phobia of stuff being injected into me

"Are you sure this is going to work?" Sean asked and I looked towards them

"Anything is possible I based the design-" he started and I looked at them

"Hank?" I called out and he hummed at me

"Stop talking" Charles finished and then they turned him around and I put the stuff away and then followed them but went to the window where everyone else was and my head was underneath Alex's and next to Erik and we all watched

"Now remember scream as hard as you can" Charles reminded Sean

"You need the sound waves to be supersonic, capture them at the right angle and they should carry you" Hank said

"They should carry me?" Sean repeated questionably and then laughed a little

"That's reassuring" he said and then got ready as Charles smiled at him and I smacked also

"Good luck" Charles wished him and then they moved out of his way and Sean did the cross sign and I laughed at how scared he way

"And don't forget to scream" Charles reminded him and I laughed even more

"Yea like he's gonna forget that Charles" I said and everyone laughed and we all smiled thinking that this was Sean's big moment, oh how we was wrong he fell out the window, shouted and just fell straight into the bush and I tried so hard not to laugh but couldn't help myself and Erik was laughing as well because we didn't expect that to happen.

I had been working by myself to help improve my powers and had a visit from either raven or Erik every so often and I would show them something new but Erik had been helping me today as I wanted to try and see if my nature would save me from a fall that I could get badly injured from but I couldn't expect it so I asked Erik to help and explained it to him and he was more than glad to help and I think it was because I shot him with the gun so that he could show what he could do but we had made it up to the top of the satellite and we were just talking when suddenly Erik shiver me off the satellite and I screamed a little but then vines and leaves came together and caught me and slowly floated me down to the ground and Erik came down and hugged me as he was proud of how far I was going with my powers and I smiled, not feeling like I'm a freak or useless anymore

The next session that me, Hank and Charles had together for hanks mutation we decided to get his hands/feet out and let him get comfortable with them

"But if you want to beat me and Lydia this time, you have to set the beast free" Charles said to hank as he stretched out his hands/ feet out and I smiled at him reassuringly and we got into place

"On your marks, get set go" Charles said and I sprinted forward and so did Charles and I was a bit ahead and then hank came zooming past me and I smiled and looked at Charles and he had a really proud look on his face also and I smiled even more and then I looked in front and I didn't see hank and then he touched Charles shoulder but I hadn't noticed so he ran even more then touched my shoulder and I jumped and laughed and he smiled and I hugged him, being so proud that he is finally accepting his mutations like I am and then Alex came forward towards us

"With those all you need now is a red nose right bozo?" He asked and then patted his shoulder and I looked at him disgusted

"Right I'm done here" hank said and started to walk away and I turned to Alex

"He was starting to accept himself then Alex and now you've gone and ruined it, think how you would feel if he talked about how you can't control your powers, what happens then? You'd get upset and annoyed wouldn't you?" I scolded him angrily and he looked at me and smirked

"What like you can control yours because I've heard the stories about you Lydia and they are not good" he said and I went to smack him but Charles grabbed my wrist and whispered to me

"Go walk it off" then let go of my wrist and I walked off while looking like someone had just burned my food I walked past the window to see Erik and raven talking but raven was in her blue form and I smiled and waved at Erik and he waved back and raven looked outside and smiled at me and I smiled back and walked back into the mansion.
