Cloudracer's PoV

Cloudracer stared at the blond-haired girl in front of her with a curious blue gaze. He face was slightly reddened and she realized that a single tear had rolled down her soft cheek. I didn't know that vikings had feelings... she thought with a tilt of her head. The girl quickly turned around, clearly embarrassed but then turned back around and stared deeply into Cloudracer's icy blue, bloodshot eyes.

For some reason, a moment of calm swept over her as their eyes met but the moment ended as the girl started to come closer. Cloudracer emited a low growl from her throat and remembered that that girl had trapped her in this net. No, i can't fall for the monster's child. They are all the same, dragon slaughtering murderers. But then, the girl ripped the net off and Cloudracer had hardly been able to register what had happened. She looked at the girl in surprise. She freed me!

With one last glance at eachother, Cloudracer launched herself into the air with her ragged wings but she wasn't going to return to her queen. She could hide somewhere on this island. It was far enough away from the nest, the queen probably wouldn't be able to reach her from here.

She dipped her nose down into a dive and spread her wings just before she hit the ground in a large cove. It was surrounded by sheer cliffs all around it except for the front, where the ocean licked at it's beach. There was a cave with a pile of toppled rocks infront of it and lastly a large and shallow lake right in the middle of the area. It's perfect! She couldn't bare to not let out a soft croon of satisfaction as she swooped into the cave.

It was relatively spacious inside and a few water droplets dripped from stalactites on the rocky roof. She padded towards the back of the dark cave and she blended perfectly with the shadows. It was still midnight outside and she could still faintly hear the yells and shouts from the no longer burning Berk. And small twinge of guilt grew at the back of her mind but she squashed it back down and slapped herself internally. You dont feel pity for those who killed your family. But what about that girl? One part if her mind asked.

Shut up, Cloudracer! She would've probably killed you if she didn't have a village to tend to! You can't be affectionate towards a Viking! Her mind snarled and Cloudracer had no choice but to agree. That was just pure luck. I can attack and destroy that whole village if i wanted to, even without those other useless pieces of scales and bones. Consider this mercy, Berk! Her thoughts roared to the sky above before she tucked her face under her torn up black wing and closed her cold and bitter blue eyes.

Cloudracer awoke with a start as a gust of cold wind swept over her dark scales. She looked around, but there was no other dragon in sight, but there were actually plenty. Their scales sparkled pale blues and whites and their freezing scales made her shiver. They almost melted perfectly with their snowy background.

Jagged spines stabbed from the back of their heads and crawled down their backs, ending in a spiked tail. Their eyes were a solid black with horns raising out of their head by their small ears. And what really made her shudder was the dragons' height. They stood maybe a few feet taller then a Monstrous Nightmare. Who are these dragons? She wondered as she stared up into one of their emotionless black eyes as the image around her faded and she found herself in her own cave.

"Cloudracer.." she swirled her head around to see another nightfury, one with dark grey and blue eyes. She gaped at the sight in front of her,"m-mother?" She whispered. Her mother smiled and brushed her head against hers affectionately. "You poor thing.." she murmured as she looked at her head to toe. Cloudracer was to shocked to say anything. How was she there? Right infront of me, my mother had died!

"Cloudracer, my sweetest little dragon, you mustn't attack others. Even if the red death has stolen your mind, you can fight against her. I know your strong enough." She warbled before she awoke for real in her own rocky den.

Cloudracer's eyes slitted open and she half expected her mother to be standing next to her, but she wasn't. All she did was sigh before creeping out of the dark cave in the back of the cove. Her feet were muffled against the grass as she quickly trotted towards the lake and peered in. Small flashes of silver flitted beneath the surface every now and then and Cloudracer was mesmerized. They look sooo goood! And im starving!

She thought as she struck a solid black talon into the water and felt satisfaction run through her as her claws hooked into a slimy body. She pulled her talon out of the water, spraying droplets in a shower everywhere. Then, the fish slipped from her claws and onto the grass. It flopped around for a few seconds before it stopped and she ate it all in one mouthful.

Licking the area around her mouth, Cloudracer purred in delight. Even though it was one fish it still cheered her up a bit. She pulled away from the water and wandered towards the beach. The sand was warm and soft underfoot and her scales soaked up much of the sun. Maybe i could settle down here for a bit.. it doesn't seem like the vikings visit this place very often. The only scent here is one that is very stale.

She scouted around the beach for a few minutes and layed down on the sand with the sea right in front of her. She spread out her wings to absorb more of the heat and smiled for once in a long time.
