By Tidalclaws
(Tidalclaws' PoV)
After Tidalclaws had tossed the enchanted stone at Starscale, he turned to the skywing that was just a foot away from him. She was a large dragon, with dark red scales and a vivid yellow underbelly. Against the yellow scales of her underbelly, deep red gashes stood out like a camel in a horde of chickens. The deep wound was gushing with dark red skywing blood that stained the ground beneath her.
The dragon's yellow eyes were flashing between wild with fear, soft and pleading, and dullness, for she was most definitely going to die. Tidalclaws could tell that the bite had been carefully placed with great skill and that she wouldn't live, even if he tried to save her. Stopping the blood wouldn't work because all of it was spilled over the ground in a large puddle.
His intelligent eyes flashed towards his own talons and he knew that he could save her. But, do i have the confidence to? I probably won't even be able to get close to the dragon, never mind touching her! TOUCHING THE DRAGON WAS NOT PART OF THE DEAL!
Then, he turned back towards the Skywing, writhing in a heap on the ground. He puffed a wisp of smoke from his nose and stepped hesitantly towards the dragon. Her eyes were glazed in silent pain and he felt sympathy for the dying dragon. His fear was no longer there and he sat next to the dragon, but it came back as fast as it had disappeared. This will be the third time i use my magic. Im gonna lost my soul after this! I know im going to!
He grasped another random stone from the ground and held it in front of his blue and black face, his brown eyes staring at it. Then he spoke directly to the stone, quietly and quickly. "I enchant this stone to rid the user of any scratch or bite to a maximum of half way healed." He whispered in a very wordy sentence. Then he shoved the stone into the skywing's talons and eyed her warily.
Slowly but surely, the deep gashes on the dragon's neck began to fade until it was a shallow wound. She would be halfway healed and not dead, and not dead is good. I used my magic at the minimum and I don't feel very different.. healing a dragon halfway certainly won't make my soul go away, will it? It isn't as big as healing you all the way.
He was jerked out of his thoughts when the sound of clanking metal pierced the uneasy air. He turned his head around fearfully and saw Skywing guards rush towards them with chains dangling in their talons. The crowd around the arena was roaring with dragons hooting and cheering when the battle was officially declared as over.
Then, he felt metal shackles wrap around his wrists and he made no attempt to get away. He wouldn't make it far anyway. he turned towards the half dead skywing, who also had chains on her wrists and was slowly standing up with shaky legs. Lastly, he turned towards Starscale, who was staring at the also chained four part hybrid and the seawing hybrid champions. He was relieved to see her alive and he let out the breath that he had been holding.
He suddenly realized that she was still free and that she could get away so when the skywing gaurds flew towards her, he raised his head and shouted out a warning. But to his surprise, after she had turned her head towards him, her legs gave way beneath her and her slumped body just looked like a heap of black.
What happened!? I have to save her! Did the champions get to her? Is she hurt? Ignoring the chains that were wrapped around him, he pulled forward and raced towards Starscale, dragging the surprised Skywing along with him. "Hey! Stop!" The guard yelled but Tidalclaws kept running towards her until he was by her side.
There were only old scratches on her but to his dismay, the enchanted stone wasn't in her talons anymore. It was probably mixed in the the various rocks scattered all over the dusty ground.
