It had been a few days since Seokjin's house had been destroyed and Eunbi still hadn't been found. Jjangu was slowly getting better as time went by. He walked around on his own, but he was always tired. (A/N I'm just going to assume Jjangu is male for the sake of writing.) We had also gotten witness protection. Security stood outside our house for every second of the day, watching out for Eunbi.
Seokjin woke up looking pale. "Good mor- Are you okay?" I asked, noticing his sickly appearance.
"I think I'm getting sick." He croaked, coughing slightly.
"I'll get you some medication. Sit down and eat." I gestured to the food I set out on the table as I walked to kitchen to get him medicine. When I came back, he hadn't eaten anything. He just sat there, staring at it blankly. "Aren't you going to eat?"
"I don't think I can."
"No appetite?" He nodded slightly, maintaining his blank stare at his plate. "Just eat as much as you can. You can't take medicine on an empty stomach." He reluctantly started to eat slowly. I placed the tablets on the side of his plate before sitting down and eating my own food. Seokjin ate almost half of his food then gave up and took his medication as I fed Jjangu.
"Do you want to go rest?" He shook his head and sighed.
"I can't sleep."
"Well, you should at least lie down." He nodded and headed toward his room. I took care of him all day as he gradually got worse and worse.
Before I went to bed, I came to check on him. He was sitting in bed awake, but exhausted. "Hey, Y/N.." He groaned.
"How are you feeling?" I asked softly. He shook his head and coughed.
"I'm not getting any better." I sighed as I stood beside his bed.
"I don't know what to do. I've done everything I can think of."
"It's okay, I just need to sleep."
"Alright. I'll leave you alone to rest." I smiled slightly as I turned around to leave. As I took a step, Seokjin grabbed my wrist. I looked over my shoulder at him in shock as his eyes widened and he instantly let go.
"What am I doing?" He mumbled before turning his back to me.
"Do you want anything?" I asked, slightly confused.
"No, it's okay."
"Are you sure?"
"... Can you stay for a while?" He turned back around to look at me. I nodded and sat on the edge of his bed. "Where do you think Eunbi is?"
"Eunbi? I have no idea." I shrugged. "She's probably somewhere near your house if she keeps appearing there."
"You don't think she knows where I am, right?"
"No, otherwise she would have come after you already."
"She's never tried to hurt me before.."
"Seokjin... Is that why you're sick? Because you're worried about Eunbi?"
"Maybe. I haven't been able to sleep for days."
"Don't worry. We have police standing outside and tight security."
"You don't know her like I do. How do you think she escaped death row?"
"Worrying isn't going to make it any better. You need to sleep and stay healthy. Don't ruin yourself just because she might."
"You're right." He coughed, clutching his chest in pain. "I shouldn't worry so much."
"Do you want me to buy sleeping pills for you?"
"No, it's okay. I'll manage."
"Are you sure?" He nodded and smiled weakly. "Do you want me to leave you alone now?"
"Well.." I smiled and stood up.
"It's okay. I'll let you sleep now.. Or at least try to." I turned around to leave, but I found myself being pulled back down onto the bed. Seokjin's arms wrapped around me as he sat up and pulled me closer to his chest.
"Don't leave. Please.. I'm terrified that she might find me." I blushed as he nuzzled his nose into my neck.
".. O-Okay, how long do you want me to stay? You need to rest."
"Can't you stay the night?"
"Y-You want me to sleep with you?"
"Please? I'm really scared.. I don't want to be alone."
"You're lucky I'm nice."
"Thank you. I understand that it's uncomfortable for you, but I don't know how much more of this I can take." He let go of me and smiled as we both slipped under the sheets. Surprisingly, I slept really easily.
There was sudden movement, making me jolt awake. I opened my eyes to find Seokjin sitting up, panting. He buried his face in his hands and his breathing became uneven. "She's going to kill me.." He whispered.
"Seokjin, you're okay." I said softly, sitting up. He shook his head vigorously and grabbed fistfuls of his hair.
"She'll kill me."
"Seokjin-"
"She'll kill me!" I grabbed his wrist and pulled him into a hug.
"You're okay. You're safe here." He instantly calmed down and hugged me back. He was still panting and he had a high temperature. Without breaking the embrace, we both lay back down and his breathing slowed down. I let his head rest on my chest and rested my chin on his head as I gently brushed my fingers through his hair. It was as if I was his mother. We both drifted off like that and he slept peacefully for the rest of the night.
