Chapter 20~ Goodbyes

Chapter Twenty

In the third person~

Saoirse, David and William were greeted warmly by the Witch Clan of the Enchanted Wood. Each of them were given a loral wreath and were paraded down the streets of the Enchanted Village.

The Witches were joined by Seelie faeries of Golde Stone Meadow who had come to see the long awaited Chosen Ones, who would bring peace to the Majikal and Mortal.

Harry had been healed within minutes of his arrival with Shadow and Elizabeth.

Elizabeth was welcomed instantly and yet, pity hung in the air around her for she was Mortal born. But she dismissed the awkward feelings and showed the Clan there was nothing for them to pity.

Shadow sat quietly in the shadows and watched the scenes unfold.

As night drew nearer the Witch Queen stepped forward and asked Saoirse, Shadow and Elizabeth to her Tree, for Witches and Elves both live in hollowed out trees.

Once inside she explained that men were forbidden in the Enchanted wood at night and that the men must leave their company as soon as possible or they would be obliterated by the strong magic that lay upon the woods.

Saoirse did not take that lightly.

The Queen showed remorse and said that only on man could stay in the wood. When asked why, she told them that he was under the protection of a dragon.

And so it was decided that Harry and William would be given horses to ride them back to Belidona Athiosus and that Shadow would accompany them as protection.

Saoirse and David would stay in the Enchanted Wood and train with the Witches, and Elizabeth would stay, also, to learn from her brethren.

It was only ten minutes later that Shadow, Harry and William were almost on their way when a certain distraught young rider came to wish them luck...

Saoirses' Point of Veiw~

'Wait!' I cried out to the retreating figures of my friends and brother.

They stopped and turned to me.

'I just wanted to say good luck! And goodbye! I have a feeling we will meet soon but I just wanted to give you my best and to say thank you for what all of you did!' I rushed keeping my eyes on Shadow and Harry.

Butterflies were flying around my stomach but I wouldn't let the nerves bother me.

'Thanks sis,' said Harry. 'See you soon.'

He winked at me knowingly and glared at William. 'Don't be too long, we have a schedule to keep to, I am not missing my wedding.'

I smiled, I almost forgot about Evangeline.

'Good luck, brother. I wish you a happy married life!' I said as he turned away with Shadow.

I looked up at William and bit my lip. Here went nothing.

I reached up and yanked him down and stood on my toes and kissed him.

To my sheer embarrassment, he pulled away and gave me a look of surprise.

But thankfully he dismounted and pulled me closer to him, which was kind of hard since I had the egg in my hand.

We kissed for what seemed like eternity, or until Harry shouted at us to hurry up.

We said our goodbyes and as he turned and rode away on the bay mare he was given, a feeling of great sadness washed over me and a tear trickled down my cheek.

It fell off my chin and landed with a splash on the golden egg.

Crack!
