 (Lily)

Standing on my tippy toes I stretched my arms above my head once more for the box I was reaching for. It was the last thing that I owned that I was packing up before I moved. Finally after three more times I got it down. Why I put it up there in the first place I have no clue. After living with Andy and Raven for almost three weeks I was moving out and into my own place. Just thinking about it brought a smile to my face.

“Lily, you got everything?” Raven asked brushing strands of hair out of her face as she walked in.

“Hey, is that what I think it is?” I nodded my head and sat down on the floor slowly opening it. Pictures, letters, and random things filled up the red box.

“Hey Raven, remember this?” Handing her the picture she covered her eyes.

“Oh my god, I still can’t believe we did that.” Raven and I were standing in front of a roller coaster leaning against each other. Flipping it over in my hand writing I had wrote, “Raven and I right after eating two chilly cheese fries each.” That wasn’t one of our greatest ideas.

“And this,” Raven pulled out my first guitar pick that Jinxx gave me after seeing that I had raw fingers. Moving things around I saw a picture that was from the very beginning that I thought that I had lost.

“The day that started it all,” was written on the back. Nudging Raven she looked at the photo in my hand and a small smiled formed on her face. To somebody else a picture of a girl sitting on the sidewalk looking down at the guitar she was playing would have probably been thrown out. But that was a very important day for me.

“God, it just seems like yesterday when I took that,” Raven whispered. Nodding my head I started thinking back to that day, wondering what would have happened if Raven hadn’t stood in the crowd when she had. She had done so much for me that I almost had a heart attack when she had me move in with her and Andy.

“Time sure does go by fast,” I murmured not believing it even now. It was only three months ago that I was on the street only surviving because I could play guitar.

            “Hey babe, you ready?”

Lifting my eyes I smiled at one of the two guys standing in the doorway who were watching Raven and I. Everything that I have gotten, including him, all started on that sidewalk.
