‘Victoria Carter what the bloody hell have you been thinking!’ Simon screamed over the small, fuzzy webcam. ‘Have you even heard the recording of what he said. You can’t let him do this.’ I all but screamed back at him. ‘Tori of course I’m not going to let Fletcher get taken away with you all. But you need to try and stay focused at the same time alright. You have the campaign and the tour still coming up and I don’t want to have to deal with rumors of you going around punching people.’ He sighed rubbing his temples. ‘I know uncle Si I just hate to see everyone like this.’ I whispered. ‘I know Tori and trust me I’m trying everything that I can alright.’

After Simon and I said our goodbyes I walked back into the lounge room to find Jess and Ashton asleep together on the couch. I could feel my arms well up in tears as I looked at their puffy faces. This really shouldn’t be happening to them. They were a family, they loved each other so much. ‘Hey it’s going to be fine alright.’ Luke’s raspy voice whispered in my ear. His arms wrapped around my waist turning me slowly around. His thumbs rubbed my cheeks removing the tears that had fallen down my cheeks. I nodded slowly wrapping my arms around his toned torso. ‘You know it was pretty hot when you punched that guy.’ He smirked making me slightly laugh.

‘I know that you don’t want to go out tonight but my mum asked if we wanted to go to hers for dinner?’ Luke asked as we walked into the kitchen. ‘Definitely. I need a mum influence right now.’ I smiled pressing my lips to his cheek. Luke’s mum is definitely like my mum was in so many ways. I really think they would have been good friends. And it was times like this when I missed my family more than ever.

‘Hey Tor.’ Jess smiled weakly as she poked her head into my room. I weakly smiled back taking in her whole appearance. There were bags underneath her red, puffy eyes and her hair was in a mess. The stress was really taking a toll on her, I have never seen her this weak. She walked up behind me and took the curling wand out of my hand. We sat there each in a comfortable silence as she curled the ends of my hair. ‘Thank you for what you did today.’ She smiled, holding back the tears in her already glossy eyes. I smiled warmly at her, pulling her into a hug. ‘We will get through this together. All of us. We won’t go down without a fight.’ I whispered into her hair as I rubbed her back, letting her tears wet my shoulder.

‘You look gorgeous, Tor.’ Jess smiled wiping away the few tears she had remaining on her cheeks. ‘Thanks darl. Go spend some time with the others alright. I’ll be back later.’ I smiled hugging her once more. We each walked down the stairs to find everyone sitting down there playing with a giggling Fletcher. I don’t know if it makes me happier or sadder that he had no clue what was going on. That he could be split up from his family. I turned my attention to Luke who was smiling up at me. He looked amazing as always. ‘We’ll be back later guys. Call if you need anything.’ Luke called as he lead me out the door. We made it into the lift and Luke grabbed me by the waist and held me against the metal walls. ‘You look gorgeus.’ He whispered seductively as he attached his lips onto mine. The familiar taste of mint swirled around my mouth as I smiled into the kiss. Man I missed being this close to him. We almost missed the sound of the lift opening an the door opened to reveal a short, old lady giving us a death stare.

‘Horny teenagers.’ I heard her mumble under her breath as I walked past. I couldn’t help but burst out laughing which made Luke look at me like I was crazy. Which of course made me laugh even louder. Eventually he started chuckling along with me and we were standing in the middle of the hotel lobby practically pissing our pants. Which may or may not have resulted in some strange looks from strangers.

‘Ok please take the right exit this time.’ I smiled cheekily at Luke, as I straightened my hi-lo flower dress out. I could see him smirk out of the corner of my eye as he turned the car. We pulled down the familiar looking street and I took in a shaky breath. The last time I was at this house it nearly ended mine and Luke’s relationship. And that was only 3 weeks ago.

‘Tori.’ I heard a woman squeal when Luke and I walked into the house. I looked up to find Liz engulfing me in a hug shocking me a little but I immediately hugged her back. I missed not having a motherly figure around. ‘Oh yes. It’s not like your son that you’re not going to see in nearly a year is here or anything.’ Luke smirked standing from behind us. ‘Oh hush up you and go help our brothers.’ Liz said shooing Luke off. I stuck my tongue out at Luke as he sulked away. I burst out laughing soon joined by Liz.  ‘Oh honey this campaign idea sounds amazing.’ Liz gushed as we walked into the kitchen. ‘Yeah I’m really excited about it and the fans love the idea too which is amazing.’ I smiled. ‘Luke is very proud of you.’ She smiled as we looked over at the tall blonde boy who was stealing pasta out of the large pan when he thought his mum wasn’t looking. ‘Lucas.’ She scolded him, making him jump about a foot in the air.

‘Oh I’m going to miss you so much.’ Liz sobbed as she pulled Luke into a bear hug. ‘I’ll miss you too mum.’ He smiled, making me mentally aw. ‘Tell the boys that I say hi and give Ashton and Jess my wishes for Fletcher.’ She smiled giving me a hug. ‘Will do.’ I said as I walked back over to Luke. ‘Stay safe guys. I love you.’ Liz calls as we climb in the car, waving as we left the house. ‘I’m gonna miss her.’ Luke sighed as we pulled onto the freeway. ‘I know but you’ll see her again soon alright.’ I smiled as I pressed a soft kiss to his cheek.

We pulled back to the hotel not long after and made our way up to the apartment. As we opened the doors, laughter filled our ears for the first time in nearly two days. I looked over at Luke and he had the same expression as I must have. We both made it to the living room in our shocked states to find everyone sitting around watching a movie. It was the first time in nearly two days I had seen Jess and Ash smile. They looked as if nothing had happened lately, they looked carefree. I smiled at the two of them before dragging Luke over to the couch and sat next other holding each other as close as possible. As much as I wanted to stay happy, I couldn’t shake the thought that in 2 days we could lose Fletcher.
