*Sadie*
Sadie speaking, finally, because Chris has a lot of things to say. Like really, all you needed to say was "I ate, we trained, and we went to sleep." It doesn't take an entire speech.
Okay, who are we to say that, but whatever.
I woke up, sleepy, and still not all awake, to a leopard spotted cat licking my face. I turned over and smiled.
'Oh, hey there Muffin...' I muttered.
'Mrow' The cat said, rubbing herself against my face.
'Yeah, nice to see you too...' I closed my eyes.
Half a second later they flew open again.
'Muffin?!' I yelped in disbelief at my old cat. The last time I had seen her, it was when I threw her against a bunch of those Serpopards that Christopher was attacked by to defend myself.
You're probably thinking "Sadie? Why would you throw your pet cat at a bunch of huge serpent leopards to defend yourself?" Yeah, it wasn't very nice of me as an owner, but I had no choice, and it turned out that Muffin was hosting an immortal cat goddess called Bast, who was living inside Muffin for years, watching over me as my guardian. The last time I ever saw Bast, was in a nursing centre for Gods, called the House of Rest, when we left her chasing balls of yarn. (Hey, she's still a cat, and cats are easily distracted that way.) I had never expected to see her again, especially with the Egyptian Gods "Retreating to the heavens" and all that.
Muffin started glowing, getting brighter and brighter until I had to close my eyes. When the light faded, I was looking at a woman with jet black hair and a leopard skin jumpsuit.
'Bast!' I cried.
'Did you miss me, my kitten?' She purred back.
After I had finally let go of her, she patted my head and sat down next to me.
'W-why did you come back?' I asked, a sudden chill running down my spine. 'I mean, It's great that you're back, but I thought the Gods had to retreat because Apophis was defeated...?'
'And so we did, Sadie. Relax, Apophis is not coming back anytime soon. But, great changes have been happening recently, including the imbalance of another world. For some reason, the changes have been affecting us too, and the only good thing about that is that now we can descend back down to the earth again. Ra has sent me back here to watch over and protect my kittens as now, there has been a new and different addition to the House of Life, has it not?' Bast raised her eyebrows.
'You mean Chris?' I asked. 'We've been worried about him too. Supposedly, his dad is Zeus, the Greek God of the Skies. But he's also got the Blood of the Pharaohs.'
'Which makes him, quite possibly, the first Demigod to have been born into two different worlds of Mythology.' Bast finished, frowning slightly. 'I've never liked the Greek Gods, they were always showing off and talking about how good they were, especially when they took over Egypt. But Christopher is a very powerful person indeed.'
'There's more.' I went on. 'He's got his own guardian, another Son of Zeus called Bob, but he is much more powerful. I haven't faced anything like him since Apophis, I mean, his power over wind... We couldn't even get close to him. If Christopher hadn't stopped Bob...'
'That one.' Bast wrinkled her nose in distaste. 'He's got a bad history with him, something that happened that made him very, very powerful.'
'What did happen?'
'It's strictly against the laws of the Gods to tell mortals such secrets.' Bast muttered. 'Especially secrets that don't belong to our legend. The Greeks tell us to "Stay away or do it our way."
