*Sadie*
Ahhh! Christopher Wildflight! My fondest memories of him would be the time we first saw him, when he crash-landed into a dune of sand.
What? It was pretty funny.
We rushed over to the boy and found him cursing, spitting out sand in frustration.
'Who are you, and why do you love sand so much?' I smirked, as Carter and I helped him up.
'They taste nice.' He snapped. Takes a sarcastic person to know a sarcastic person.
'I'm trying to learn how to fly.' He replied more seriously. Yes, in our world, learning how to fly is more believable than a person who likes to eat sand. Sad, right?
'What's your name?' Carter asked.
'Christopher Wildflight. Bob said you were here to pick me up or something?' He stood up and stared at us. 'What the... is that a... bent... sword?'
We hesitated.
'You can... see this?' Carter lifted up his khopesh.
'I mean, barely. The image shifts a lot, like most of your other equipment. Is that a wand you're holding?' He looked at me.
'My name's Sadie' I said. 'And yes. This is a wand. You can't see these very properly?'
'I mean, my eyesight is perfect, but yeah.'
'I think I can help.' I spoke a command word. 'Sun-Ah.'
The hieroglyph for Reveal blazed into the air and onto Chris's shirt. He yelped and swatted at it.
'What was that for?' He asked. 'What was that...?'
'Can you see things clearly now?' I ignored his question.
'Y-yeah...' He muttered uncertainly. He glanced at Carter's khopesh again. 'Your sword is actually bent? What happened to it?'
'It's called a khopesh.' Carter grumbled. It's an ancient sword used by the Egyptians, It's meant to look that way.
'Egyptians...' Chris's eyes widened. 'You guys are Egyptians?'
'We're way more. We're Egyptian magicians.' I answered. 'We are from the Twenty-First Nome, Brooklyn house. Did you by any chance, come here because of the recording?'
'What recording?'
'Never mind then. This is Carter, my annoying brother.' I pointed to Carter, ignoring the returning eye roll. We are descended from ancient Egyptian blood, which allows us to perform Egyptian Magic under the guidance of the ancient Egyptian Gods. Who, right now, are incapacitated ever since we stopped Apophis, the snake of Chaos, from devouring the Sun God Ra and destroying the world. ISN'T THAT RIGHT, ISIS?' I said that last part out to the sky, directed that at my former Goddess friend.
'Woah. Isis?' Chris backed up nervously.
'We're not terrorists.' Carter sighed in exasperation, 'She means Isis, the Egyptian goddess of the rainbow and divine magic. Sadie was her mortal host, and with both their minds together, they could perform powerful things. I follow the path of Horus, and as his host, I can summon a combat avatar of him to use in combat. I can perform simple fighting spells, but that's about it.'
'Yeah, a giant glowing chicken man.' Sadie laughed.
'It's a glowing falcon-headed warrior, not a giant chicken man!' Carter groaned.
'Y-you know, you don't have to tell me all this, I have no idea what you're talking about anyway.' Chris sat down on the desert sands, dazed and confused. Poor guy, I've done this Egyptian business for so long that nothing much surprises me anymore.
