(7 years later)
I got a call from the head of Cathay Pacific and I quickly rose from my line and walk up to the stage. People stars to give an applause for me and I gave them a little wave before shake hands with the head of Cathay Pacific. I saw Mr. Buenas grab my bar from my shoulder and gave me two bars before saluting me.
"congratulations, Mr. Jaeger. you may start your life as the new captain in Hong Kong Airlines route Asia," he said before giving me a hug. "may God bless you, Eren Jaeger. I always love your work and you deserve this,"
"thank you so much," I said with a little jump before salute to him.
"just one question, Mr. Jaeger," he stopped me before walking down from the stage.
"yes! anything, sir," I said before smiling at him.
"do you have a girlfriend? or maybe in a relationship with someone?" he asks.
I chuckled nervously. "that's... a rare question, sir,"
"oh, don't worry, Mr. Jaeger. I was just asking," he said with a smile. "you know, I'm 65 years old and you just turned to 22 which where your life has just begun. I bet your partner is really proud of you,"
I felt my heart stop beating for a while after what he said to me. I bit my lips before smiling at him with a small nod. I couldn't quite find a word to answer him. 7 years ever since I left Maria have been a bit like hell. I miss everyone and, specifically, Levi. I saw him in social media more often now and it's always him which made me miss him too much. Will he misses me too?
"I'm... still single, sir," I said with a smile. "I... still haven't found someone yet,"
"ah, understandable," he nodded. "well then, Mr. Jaeger, it is really a pleasure to finally see you as a pilot which is your dream ever since you're a little kid, right?"
"indeed, sir," I smiled.
"congratulation, Mr. Jaeger," he said before he dismissed me.
I smiled at him once again before walking down to the stage. I gripped on my shoulder as I saw the two bars on both of my shoulders. I am finally a pilot. I can't believe I'm a pilot now. I felt myself started to sob before hugging myself while tears rolling down to my cheeks. I'm a pilot now, dad.
I jumped a little when I felt someone hug me but I let them be because it might be my friends here in California who wants to congratulate me. I, then, wipe my tears before letting go of this person and jump in surprise when I see a person that is very familiar back in Maria.
"A- Annie?" I call out. "is it... really you? you're... you're a pilot too?"
"wow," she looked at me. "7 years in the same exact building- I even saw you twice or more than that, and you did not notice my existence. I'm so attacked,"
"I can't believe it's you!" I jumped in happiness before hugging her again. "it's Annie Leonhardt! hey, Annie! what's up! oh my god, I can't believe it is really you,"
She rolls her eyes at me before smiling. "you looked like you're meeting with Jesus,"
"oh, come on! 7 years, Annie! how- how did I not notice you?" I smiled at her before chuckling. "hey, how is it going?"
"first of all, congratulation, captain," she salute me which I salute to her back with a low chuckle.
"thank you," I smiled. "what about you? are you a pilot too? or maybe-,"
"I'm a co-pilot for Qatar," she explains. "even though I've dream to be a captain, but being a co-pilot isn't that bad,"
"that's amazing! congratulation, Annie," she smiled at me.
