"Evie, honey! Come downstairs please," my Mum yells up to my room.

"Yeah, Mum?" I say, once i'm down.

"Listen, your Dad and I have been thinking about you going on holiday with April and her family..."

"Please Mum I have to go!" I interrupted her, desperately.

"...and we think it could be a good thing for you to do."

"REALLY?"

I am so excited. In three weeks I'll be going camping with my best friend.

"Yes, really Evie," my Mum laughs at my reaction.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! I love you Mum, you're the best!" I shouted, already running up the stairs to tell April over the phone.

"Hey Mom,"

"Yes, Mikey,"

"Um... Bryce has invited me to go to England with him, 'glamping' for a week."

"Oh, Mikey, honey. I wish i could let you go, and I would, but we just can't afford it right now."

"Oh, okay, Mom."

I'm disappointed, but i know she's telling the truth. Since Dad left us, there's not a lot of spare cash. No where near enough to send me halfway across the planet.

*phone ringing*

"Hey, man,"

"So? Are you coming Mikey?"

"No, sorry, bro. It's just since my Dad, my Mom just can't afford it right now."

"Oh, Mikey, that sucks."

"Yeah, I wish i could come."

"Mikey, stay on the call. I need to quickly talk to my parents, back in a minute."

"Sure."

***********************************

"Bryce, we can pay for it. Tell him. He deserves this experience, he's been put through a lot. It's the least we can do for him. Plus, he's like a second son."

"Thank you Dad! Love you," I tell him, running up the stairs.

"Mikey, you still here?" I say into my phone.

"Yeah, what's up?"

"You're coming to England."

"Bryce, I wish I could, but I just told you, my Mom can't afford it."

"My parents will pay."

"No way. It's too expensive for them to waste their money on me."

"You're like their other son, Mikey. They care about you. You ARE coming to England!"

"Bryce, really? Wow, thank you. This is going to be sickkk,"

"My parents will call your Mom. See you tomorrow, bro,"

"I owe you, Bryce. See you tomorrow."
