Y/N strode down the hall Friday afternoon making her way toward Scott McCall who stood taking books from his locker. She leaned to the locker beside him, just behind his locker door and when he slammed it shut he saw her, both smiling wide at each other. As Scott began to walk away Y/N followed beside him.

"What time are you coming around tonight? I am so ready to beat you at mini-golf." Y/N giggled as she bumped her shoulder lightly into Scott as he frowned a bit and hung his head.

"I don't know, my bike has been acting up and I don't want to put you in a situation where you could get hurt."

"That's fine, we can take my car."

"It's fixed?" Realization crossed Y/N's face as she remembered her wrecked car and she sighed.

"No." It was Y/N's turn to frown and hang her head.

"I guess we'll just have to reschedule."

"That sucks, I've been looking forward to this all week. Hey, maybe I can get Dad to let me borrow his car for the night, not like he has anywhere to be on a Friday night."

"Are you sure? He wasn't too pleased with us going on this date in the first place."

"Listen I talked to him the other day, he's cool with it."

"Cool with it? Really? He was has been pushing me pretty hard in practice. Not that I can't handle it, but still."

"Okay so maybe he isn't cool with it but he isn't overheating like he was at first."

"If you say so, I have to get to practice, If you can get the car let me know and I'll see you around 7:30?"

"Sounds good, I'm getting a ride home from Lydia so I won't be at practice today."

"Okay, cool. See you later." With that the two went their separate ways until their date.

Y/N had made a last minute stop in coach's office to plead her case about the car, seeing as it was almost time for practice and he was only half listening with another teacher in the room, he was quick to say yes only realizing what he had done after she left.

7:15 that night, Y/N was sitting on the couch with her dad unable to move as he spoke to her. When he first got home from work her dad bragged about how hard he had worked the team that day, especially his captain. Since then he has moved on to talking about his Econ classes and things that happened in the teacher's lounge, anything he could think of to keep his daughter from moving. Several times she had tried to stand up and leave but he would tell her to sit down, that he wasn't done talking about his day. Finally she just turned out, checking the time on her phone every two seconds.

"And then Greenburg-"

"Okay Dad, I get it you had an eventful day full of Greenberg's idiocracy and I promise I will listen to you talk all about it tomorrow at breakfast but right now I need to go pick up Scott for our date, so can I have the keys?"

"No you can not, you are not allowed to date anyone but especially not someone from my team."

"Dad, we already talked about this. I am going on a date, with Scott McCall, Captain of the lacrosse team, you like him, you say he's like a son to you; and you already said I could take the car."

"Well I changed my mind."

"Dad, don't be like this. Just give me the keys and go watch old videos of you playing lacrosse."

"But-" Bobby held tightly to the keys in his hand as he look at his daughter.

"No. Now give me the keys."
